Q: If this has no GPS how do you find it if you left something it’s attached to in another town?
A: I have the tile pro and the range is 400 feet. I can use my phone to send out an alert so that the tile beeps so that I can find it or you have the option of spending $2.99 a month and what will happen is if you get more than 400 feet away from your item it will beep and alert you on your phone that you left your item behind and it’ll show you a general area of where your item might be within 400 feet.
Q: What is the difference between tile mate and tile pro? Thanks!
A: Hi Heather, the Tile Pro has a range of 400 ft. or 122 meters while the Tile Mate only 200 ft. or 61 meters. The volume is louder for the Pro, the Pro is a little bit larger at 42 mm x 42 mm vs. 35 mm x 35 mm. I believe both have 1 year replaceable batteries.
Q: Does it come with a battery? Or which one does?
A: Yes, it does come with a battery. The replacement is a 3 volts CR 2032 battery. Not expensive at all.
Q: Do I have to have a subscription to make it work or to make it work better?
A: Mine works fine and I don’t have a subscription.
A: Yes it can. I found my keys outside in the rain. The Tile attached to my keys were fine.
Q: Is the this item Alexia compatible?
A: Yes - you can link the app
A: Hi there, Great question! Although Tile has the ability to reliably track personal belongings, it wasn't designed for tracking people. Since Tile uses Bluetooth to keep track of your things, it can find something that is within up to a 400-foot range. Because Tile doesn't offer the same live tracking that a GPS device would, it's not the most reliable source for keeping up with something that's moving around relatively quickly. We recommend Tile to be used for things like your wallet, keys, school supplies, or something your kids tend to misplace often. I wanted to let you know that we do not advocate Tile for the use of tracking people. Tracking someone without their consent is also against the law. As a Bluetooth tracker, Tile can immediately track something that’s within 30-100 feet. Outside of that, Tile relies on anonymous location updates from the Tile network for up-to-date location information.
