Q: Would this be compatible with a Chromebook Laptop?
A: You'd run into a few issues. To start, it's not an easy process to transfer the Chrome OS from one SSD to another. That alone would be reason enough to abandon this. The other issue is that Chromebooks are not great options for media playback, particularly with more advanced file formats. Alternatively, you may be better off with a low grade Windows PC. You should be able to get one with 7mm SSD, that you could exchange for a larger one as needed to meet your media collection needs. The Chromebooks, at the end of the day, are really focused on cloud storage and light application usage.
