Drops signal but does work
||Posted .It tends to drop the signal every hour, restarting itself. It drops the signal when plugged in once it gives the fully charged message. It drops the signal whenever it sends a notification of anything. That is annoying when you’re in the middle of something or have an unsaved online document or form open. What is good about this is that battery life is decent, and it lets you choose between 2.4 Hz and 5 Hz so the lower speed can be compatible with your older devices, like printers or old tablets. Overall, I like it and like not being tied to a contract. I added this to my unlimited plan for only $20 more per month. Unlimited for this device actually means once it reaches a certain usage, the speed slows down and you can no longer watch videos via the MiFi. That’s Verizon’s problem though, not the device. Also, Best Buy set this up wrong at the store and I was charged incorrectly. Verizon corrected the error and credited me once I had gotten the first bill surprise.

Top-notch Verizon Wi-Fi on the go
||Posted .I don't know much about the technology behind this hotspot, but it screams. Even with a weaker signal (two to three bars), it was pulling down 36 Mbps. I've never seen mobile data that fast on the phone. Of course, your experience will be limited by Verizon's towers and bands in your area. But if you're looking for fast internet to take anywhere and you know Verizon has quality service there, it's worth picking up. It's much quicker than the cheaper MiFi Jetpack hotspot I'd used before. Also, while Best Buy in-store reps had told me that this only works postpaid, that was false. I called Verizon, and they confirmed that if you buy at full retail, you can use it with a prepaid plan. I did, and it works great.

Claims to be a jetpack
||Posted .While great for connecting a Wi-Fi only device to the internet (very easy to do). It did not give me the ability to fly. 0/10 as a jetpack 5/5 as an internet device

stays connected
||Posted .I live in the boonies and internet has been a problem here. This at least lets me stay connected my last mifi must have been bad from the time I received it because it was constantly disconnecting with my downstairs computer. This one has not lost a connection since I have got it. My speed is also faster so this was a great purchase for me anyway.

Works great for home Wi-Fi in rural area
||Posted .Works great for home Wi-Fi in rural area. I set it up with a 24 hour timer that comes on for a couple hours every three or four hours and it keeps it charged so I don’t have to worry about it. Now if I can just get verizon to provide the service like they used to in the area

Great hotspot for getting a work done
||Posted .I am a Land Surveyor and I needed a way to get data from the field back to my office without actually making a trip in this hotspot helped me save lots of money on gas and employee time. Now I can work in the field, transfer the data from my gps to my laptop and send it to the office for peocessing then adjust the data and send back to my crew without actually coming back to the office. Real time saver

Excellent speed
||Posted .Had it for 1 month or so and find it very convenient to have high speed access anywhere on the road in addition to being secure. I was able to use my wireless plan leftover gb of data up to now, though you have to pay access fee each month.

Q: QuestionI don't have internet at home but will this unit work my home cameras to my smartphone Thanks
Asked by Sonny.
- A:Answer Sonny, Maybe this info will help. I recently purchased this Jet Pack for a pop up shop in Boston. As we also had no internet options, it was really the only way to go. The jet pack was to operate an IPAD pos system (Shopify), link up to Spotify for store music, and additionally run a SimplySafe alarm system equipped with (1) surveillance camera. The device is on our VZW UNlimited business plan, and for $20 bucks a month you can't beat the price. The device works great, signal never seems to fail or drop, HOWEVER........ I found within the first two months that the SimpliSafe camera when used too often for live streaming the video OR if it is set to record for too long a period (when sensors go off, upon door entry, alarm disarmed etc) and the Spotify for music CHEW THROUGH data like crazy. And while the plan is "unlimited data", after 15GB you are throttled down to speeds of 600kbps and lower per plan agreement. I was finding the usage reaching 15GB by halfway through the 30 day period, thus rendering the security camera unable to live stream without cutting out constantly. I explored a different plan option, which for Verizon is purchasing 10, 20, 50 GB etc per month. Those prices get up in the the several hundreds per month range. Quick summary, great device that does its job. Until you run devices (audio and video streaming) that consume heavy data. I find now once or twice a day quick checks on the security cam, adjusting auto record lengths on the cam, and downloading playlists directly to the ipad vs. live streaming Spotify have brought usage down to 10-15GB per month. Hope this helps!

Q: QuestionMy cable delivered internet is extremely unreliable. Would this hotpot be a good replacement or just a backup? And does Verizon crank down your speed after you've reached a high data level?
Asked by WillisTom.
- A:Answer Yes, it does. We moved to a rural area and this is our only internet source. Once we get to 22gb, it’s nothing not even google search.

Q: QuestionDoes the $10/mo to Verizon include unlimited data?
Asked by Linda.
- A:Answer If it does, that’s a good deal. I pay $20 per month for unlimited, though that’s a bit deceiving. It’s 15 gb for 4 G and the Your speed goes down

Q: QuestionWhat is the average monthly charge and how much data does it include?
Asked by Shellee27.
- A:Answer I just went to the Verizon store to see about this product. My bill is currently $51 per month. I would have to upgrade to unlimited data plus the charge for wifi. My new bill would be $121 per month.

Q: QuestionCan I use this to watch Netflix or Roku on smart tv? Or is this only for phones or computers?
Asked by Midgeymidge.
- A:Answer Yes it works well with streaming providers (Netflix/Hulu/Spectrum/Fox/Syfy/etc...). Mostly purchased it to perform video conferences using my Polycom gear and use it a lot when I travel. If you plan to stream movies I highly recommend getting the unlimited package from Verizon. One bonus on this hotspot (7730L) is I can also use it as an emergency battery pack to charge my phone.

Q: QuestionDo I have to have a cell phone plan with Verizon in order to get this?
Asked by Tray.
- A:Answer Nope

Q: QuestionCan you add this to an unlimited plan? Is it worth it if I only use it a few times a month when on appointments? And is there an extra monthly charge?
Asked by JIK.
- A:Answer If you already have one of their unlimited plans yes you can. I added it on for $20 and get 15GB of unlimited data after that they CAP it. Now that they have three plans they each have their owj CAP. I use it at work for my laptop. It's fast and relaible and I use about 7-10GB a month. If you have a phone you can see if you have mobile hotspot and save $20 a month.
