After watching all of the previous seasons of Vikings you have to wonder if they can keep the magic going, especially after lead Ragnar was killed off. Let me assure you that they can will no drop in quality. The acting and writing on this show is top notch. While not a documentary, I like that the writers use some actual historical events to determine the plot points of the series. The actor playing handicapped son Ivar is amazing with his dynamic emotion. Volume 1 is so good that I can't wait to see Volume 2 and future episodes to come.

Again, an enjoyable and intriguing Vikings installment. A lot of tragedy this season but part of the lore I assume. Alliances change and characters die unexpectedly. Still, an addictive show. I mean you want to watch it just for the location photography. It's awesome. Highly recommended. The blu ray transfer is excellent especially the sound. You'll notice it during the fight scenes when swords, shields, and fists are making contact.

With Ragnar gone a while back, the question was, would this series stay interesting? The sons of Ragnar, each with his different values and goals, definitely fill the dramatic void left by Ragnar's death. The series has gotten more polished in a movie making sense, with battles more dramatic. Floki's strained efforts to create a humane utopia show the problems of humans trying to co-operate to better themselves.
