Best real 3D projector for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After buying the ml300 and being disappointed about the light output, noise from fan, and only being able to play 3D from a computer, we returned it to get this projector, for 100 bucks cheaper I might add. The brightness is right up there with your $1000+ projectors, and the picture quality is very clear in HD, as good as our 60 inch Sony plasma we had before the screen broke. I cannot report on the 3D imaging yet, because we have not bought the active 3D glasses yet, but after hooking the PS3 up to it and putting in a 3D movie to see if it played 3D, it does. Hookup was simple. 1 HDMI cable from my 3D receiver to the unit, and both my PS3 and cable box each running HDMI to the receiver. If you want great sound, this is what you will have to do. If you just want to play sound off the not so great small inboard speaker, just hook up your cable box or whatever to it and go. The ml300 we had earlier would not even play my old NES and SNES, and barley played the wii. This projector plays them perfectly, and the best part is with this projector, with a push of a button on the remote, you can turn whatever is on the screen to 3D. Yes, even Super Mario or newer games that are not in 3D. It will also play the 3D games in normal 3D mode. The downside is replacing bulbs at ~$200 each that will last about 2-3 years depending on use. This is our main T.V. we have the projector off the wall ceiling mounted about 19 feet away, and it gives us a nice 109 inch diagonal screen, that is very nice. If you want to spend $1000+ for a fancy projector, by all means go get you some, BUT, you can buy this guy right here and not complain 1 bit about it, and be glad you saved yourself $600+ to buy glasses, movies, a 3D receiver, etc etc. Our whole setup costs around $800-$900 WITH the cost of the PS3 we bought 5 years ago. THAT is not a bad deal, a lot better than $1500 for a small 60 inch plasma that will fail after 7 months. +1 for this projector.
