Replacement drive, working as it should
|Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased this hard drive as a replacement for a stock hard drive in a family member's HP all-in-one computer. Geek Squad worked on the computer two separate times, charging $150 total, insisting that they fixed the problem each time, but did not. They told us the stock hard drive was fine. I purchased this one because I was pretty sure the stock drive was failing, causing the problems. I installed the new hard drive, installed a fresh copy of Windows 10, and the computer hasn't given us any trouble since. We were able to get Geek Squad to refund the full $150 for their failed repairs and ended up only spending $50 to do it myself in the end.

Eventually donated the desktop to another family who has been using it for three years now. Well worth the time and money.

Q: QuestionReplace 3 Gb/sec with 6 Gb/secI am replacing a 1 TB 7200 rpm SATA 3G (3.0 Gb/sec). This is 6 Gb/sec, will I be able to swap them out easily or will it require additional bios tweaking?
Asked by Laurie.
- A:Answer yes, you may swap them, no problem Connections & cables are interchangeable. If your computer only "uses" data @ 3 Gps....thats the highest performance you will see.You don't want to go the other way though....putting a 3gb/s drive in a 6 Gb/s machine.
