A: It discharges air out of one side only, appears to draw air from the back as the front is solid.

Q: can you hook up a garden hose to this dehumidifier to drain it?
A: A garden hose can be used but we recommend using plumbers tape or teflan tape to prevent the connection from being stripped by the metal on the hose
