The original reboot of Wolfenstein (New Order) was an exercise in greatness, and New Colossus keeps pushing forward. With the focus sharply on a single player experience that hasn't changed since New Order (and continued in the "1.5" Wolfenstein: Old Blood,) there remains proof that FPS games can tell excellent tales that do not feel the need to tack on an oversaturated multiplayer component. And that's what Wolfenstein brings to the table: it's not a multiplayer game trying to satisfy a need for a single player component with a paint by numbers story. Wolfenstein is an exciting, interesting story told in an equally interesting alternative history (that holds relevance in today's climate,) with unique characters. It's a FULL story, demanding your patience and attention between bouts of exciting gameplay. Wolfenstein 2 is a throwback to a time where a FPS told a better story than what's become the norm nowadays. If you're in it for multiplayer, there is none and you'll need to move along to the Call of Duties, Battlefields, and SW Battlefronts on the market. If you want a well-told story set in a genre that's long placed single player into "second thought" category, Wolfenstein has got you covered.

I hadn't played a Wolfenstein game since the original Xbox version of Return to Castle Wolfenstein back in 2003. This game is FUN! A lot of fun. It's refreshing to see a game that focuses on single player experience instead of lightly making a single player campaign and putting more of the focus on multiplayer. The themes in Wolfenstein II are dark but there is fun to be had as the story unfolds. The visuals are brilliant! The downside of the game would have to be the controls since this FPS doesn't feel exact when aiming compared to the other shooters that I play. I had to kick up the sensitivity a lot to find a happy compromise. My other complaint would be that the game has an odd way of having the player pick up ammo or health refills. Sometimes the game picks up them automatically and other times I am required to pick it up myself with the press of the Square button. This is frustrating when you're in the middle of a fight with enemies surrounding you. Overall, I'd say that this game is required gaming. Seeing the premise of an alternate reality where we lost World War II is intriguing while the game delivers a tongue in cheek tone at times.

Brilliant game. If you have previously played New Order and Old Blood you wont be disappointed. Great fun to play, what I love about Wolfenstein games is they stay true to original shooters - there is nothing complicated or adversely clever about them. But that is not a bad thing. Like all Wolfenstein games, you can pick it up and play it again even after completing the story - and still have oodles of fun. The gameplay is slick although the occassional buggy moment can occur but nothing to ruin the game. Graphics are good, some nice effects throughout the game, the dark oppressive world - large imposing buildings/dark scary environments etc...this is something Bethesda does very well through the games. If you like shooters this is a must.

I love the new orderr abd was looking forward to this game. I saw review scores of 9/10 and thought this could he better than the new order. But this game has some poor level design insanely hard cause if cheap deaths and over the top violence. I like hard games but this game would start you on missions where you were automatically getting shot at and you have no idea how to escape. You can’t really do stealth since you can’t hide very easily. It is way too much cursing in the game and gratuitous scenes. No one should play this game. The story was ridiculous and you will not believe how someone survives death. The only partifthe story that was interesting was William ( the main character back story). I will give the game a 7/10.

If you played the preceding games to this trilogy, you'll know it can be pretty brutal and bloody. If you haven't played them, well, there's your warning. But it's definitely 'for a cause' and not just wanton violence. You can Google for more in-depth reviews for the plot, of course. GOOD: "Guns...Lots of guns". If you love shooters, this is an awesome one. Plot is pretty imaginative, IMO. A LITTLE bit far-fetched, but still enjoyable. Some dark humor too. BAD: Cut-scenes are a bit long. Not Metal Gear-level, but there are a little too much. However, one may argue with me that without them, there's less of a plot and less to care about the characters. I really enjoyed the game, overall. I got my money's worth!

I'm in agreement with most of the reviewers here, but did not enjoy the sometimes insane difficulty in trying to operate the enigma machine. You almost need a photographic memory, and are only given 10 seconds, or so.....and if you fail the code is gone! The instructions are pretty much useless, as they flash by too quick to comprehend. It makes it impossible to look anything like the actual code machine. Overall, I enjoyed the game, but have to say that the game " PREY" was much more enjoyable.....from the story line perspective, as well as game play.

I've been playing the Wolfenstein and Doom games since the days I had the originals on my Atari Jaguar. The new generation on the PS4 are some of the smoothest, most entertaining and fast paced games you can find in the first person shooter genre. The stories and characters are fun - it's not only unique to experience this dark world where the "German party at the time" (BB won't let me use the actual term) won WWII, but it's even MORE fun to shoot up the "German party at the time" - and there's a lot of nice twists, while keeping the game consistently moving forward. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a shooter that runs smooth, and is a blast to play.

Up until now, I was never a huge fan of Wolfenstein, not because I didn't like the series, but because I'd never really played one before. That all changed when I played The New Order and The Old Blood back to back in 2014. I was hooked by the chaotic action, an engaging story and characters, and frantic gameplay. When this game was announced, it was a no brainer purchase. Everything that made NWO and TOB great is here and cranked to 11. The graphics are awesome, the story and characters are charming, and the gameplay is just as fun and visceral as ever. If you like FPS's, you owe it to yourself to give Wolfenstein II and its predecessors a try!
