A: To playback, you will need to search the files for the date that you which to playback from. This returns a color coded timeline indicating what kind of recording there is, (e.g., motion detected recording or scheduled recording) You can then click on the time to begin playing from that spot. This will not work with an external hard drive.
Q: Is the glass tinted on the dome cameras so you can`t tell what direction they are pointed at?
A: The dome part is not tinted, so the lens will be visible.
Q: Can you get email alerts with this set ?
A: We no longer have email alerts. We replaced them with mobile phone notifications that are sent directly to you phone. You can review your alerts in our web interface at user.zmodo.com. Q: Am I reading this correctly? There are 8 cameras but only 4 cables? How does that work?
A: This kit comes with 4 x 50ft cables, and 4 x 98ft cables. 8 in total, one for each camera.
A: You can use a female to female RJ45 coupler to connect the cables that come with this system to your existing cables. The total length of these runs cannot exceed 200ft with CAT5 cabling.
A: You can record audio if you use Zmodo sPoE cameras that have a built in microphone. You can hear the playback online, but there is no audio output to monitors or speakers.
Q: Can the dome cameras be used outside?
A: Yes, the dome cameras can be used outside.
