A: Yes, the TiVo Bolt Vox records any Spectrum Cable program your package provides. Scheduled recordings are flawless, including season passes. All you need from Spectrum is a cable card and potentially a Tuning Adapter. The Spectrum tech can set all of it up or if you are a bit handy, you can do it yourself. Having said that, I advise letting a Spectrum Tech do it as "provisioning" the cable card can be a bit complicated. I have a Bolt Vox and 5 mini's and they work great. I can recording six programs at one time and they are distributed anywhere in my house. My system uses the MoCa standard over coax.
Q: Does this model work with a HD antenna? I am finding conflicting info. Thanks
A: Check here: https://tivoidp.tivo.com/tivoCommunitySupport/s/article/TiVo-Service-Number-and-Model-Number-Table Bolt model number TCD849300V1 can only support Digital Cable while model number TCD849500 can only support Antenna.
Q: do I have to use Tivo subscription or can I just use my cable company with a cable card.
A: call your cable first to check with them that's the first thing i did before i purchased it and all I needed was the card from my cable provider. When you first turn it on a screen will pop up telling you to call the 800 Tivo number ignore it no need to call them they will tell you that you need one but it's false been using mine for 2 months now no problems
A: No it is not. But after using TiVo for so many years I have the button layout memorized...;-)
Q: do you have to sign up with Tivo to use for cable channels?
A: Hello, yes for channel guide support. You can either pay monthly or buy a life time subscription. I was a satellite subscriber for about 30 years, it was hard for me to move to cable and I was very disappointed in their DVR. The Tivo DVR addressed all those issues, pausing one channel to watch another (the 1 gig model gives you 6 tuners), record a show from the beginning, and there are others. For cable you will need to contact your cable provider and get a cable card, the major vendor in my area gives you the first cable card free assuming you don't have other cable equipment. Check with them for pricing info. IMO, the Tivo Vox Bolt makes cable worth watching! Hope that helps.
Q: Will this work with Frontier/Verizon Fios?
A: Yes should work with any cable provider that has Cable Cards. I have FiOS and they issued a Cable Card which I have in my TiVO DVR and it works great, better than the crap they rent you for big $$ from Verizon.
Q: Is there a monthly fee for subscription?
A: Yes, but you could purchase a lifetime subscription instead.
Q: Does the TiVo VOX 1Tb dvr have 4 channels or 6?
A: It has 6 tuners. I have over 30 shows taped and only 15% full.
