Q: is this wall mount compatible with a vizio v series tv
A: As long as the TV is 37" - 80" in size, then it is compatible with the mount.
Q: Can I mount this to drywall attached to aluminum studs?
A: As long as you go through the aluminum studs, then yes. Otherwise, I would not suggest mounting it to drywall only. We had to buy wingnuts to install it through the studs. We mounted this and 49" Toshiba tv's and they have been holding well.
Q: Can this be mounted to plaster with a non-operational chimney underneath?
A: I tend to overbuild things, I would definitely use heavy anchors, or do what I did, The studs on the wall were not evenly spaced, and the distance between the first and third stud was about 42 inches, and the center stud was offset ( not centered, whoever built this house cheated a bit on this area ) whereas the unit is meant for studs on 16", so I used a board 1 X 10, four foot long, and then anchored the board to all three studs, and I could center the unit on that board, makes a neat installation, while still keeping it centered between the windows

Q: Will this fit 30 inch stud spacing?
A: Hello, The BLT2 is not designed for 30" studs. I'd suggest something like the VMPL3 from SANUS. Kathryn @SANUS
