The TCL 32 R84 is close to being the perfect monitor, no matter if you’re a gamer, casual browser, using it for the office or editing photos and videos. The screen is STUNNING, colors are vivid and the blacks are as close OLED levels of darkness, this is mainly because of the HVA panel. The screen gets to 1400+ nits so you can use it anywhere and its 165 refresh rate is excellent for gaming and buttery smooth even when you’re just scrolling webpages, once you go past 60 htz you will not want to go back. TCL calibrates the monitor before sending it to you and provides the calibration results, which is wonderful for those that are using the monitor as a professional. My screen was set to a warmer hue when I got but its easy to adjust it to your preferred style. The monitor has a bunch of presets (Adobe, SRGB, DCI-P3, Rec. 709) that you can change easily and TCL also gives 8 scenario modes (movie, games, eye saver etc). I loved the fact that TCL uses DDC/CI to allow your monitors brightness and speakers to be changed by your operating system instead of having to go through the monitor button which always take way longer. When it comes to gaming this monitor is great, the refresh rate and low input lag was excellent. The added gaming features such as different types of cross hairs is wonderful and the RGB in the back is tastefully done. The monitor also has FreeSync Premium so you wont get stuttering in games and tear free game play. I was even more impressed with the screen when it came to office task, I can’t explain to you how great and sharp the text look on screen. Once you use this monitor for office tasks you will never want to go back. The ports on the monitor are not the newest but they are more than enough for 99.9% of people. You get HDMI 2.1 , DP 1.4, USB C with charging and display out with a built in KVM. Having all of this included is wonderful and you basically get everything you need. Now with all of this being said I did run into a few issues, one of them being the USB A ports for KVM use. The issue is the USB-A port don’t wake devices. So if your laptop or computer is asleep you can’t wake it unless you turn the monitor on and off, this basically makes the KVM unless. I tried everything to make it work, reset the monitor settings and even enabled quick start but nothing fixed this. At first I thought the USB A ports weren’t working, however my keyboard and mouse worked so it has to be a hardware/software issue. The second thing that was sub-par for the monitor was the speakers, they are very low and don’t have much depth to them. You will need to add speakers and thankfully there is a 3.5 jack for you to do this. The last grip I had with the monitor was uniformity; at off angles you will see the color shift a bit. Now looking straight on there is no issue but with the grey tones you will see a change in color when off center. Overall the monitor is great, it has one BEST all-around screens I have used. All the colors and scaling work great across Windows/Mac/ Windows ARM, if you have a Mac you know this is big. I don’t really mind having subpar speakers or the little bit of uniformity issues, but the USB A ports not being able to wake a sleeping device is the only thing that stops this monitor from being the best 32 inch all around monitor out there. Good: Bad: Stunning Display USB-A ports can’t wake devices Easy Setup Speakers Everything is included (cables) Uniformity at off angles Monitor Arm moves in every direction KVM switch HDR Eye searing brightness

I’ve been using this TCL 32” mini LED monitor for around two weeks now, mainly for gaming and some streaming, and I’m honestly really impressed with how it looks. The screen quality is the first thing that stands out. 4K on a 32-inch screen looks just right. Games look clean and detailed, and the colors are bright without looking fake. Most importantly, black colors actually look black, not gray, and I don’t really see much glow around bright areas, even in darker scenes. I mostly play sports and action games, and the refresh rate makes everything feel smooth. Movement looks fluid and I haven’t noticed any screen tearing or lag so far. Input feels quick too. I’m not a pro gamer, but it definitely feels faster and smoother than my old monitor. HDR looks really good on this. The screen gets very bright, even during the day with lights on. Explosions, sunlight, and highlights in games pop way more than I expected. Watching movies and YouTube in 4K also looks great, which I do sometimes. One thing I didn’t think I’d care about but actually use is the crosshair option. It’s helpful in shooters, especially when the in-game crosshair is hard to see. Nice little extra. I spend long hours on it, and my eyes don’t feel as tired as before. Not saying it’s magic or that you should sit forever, but it’s more comfortable for longer sessions. The USB-C connection is super convenient. I plug in my laptop with one cable and it charges while displaying the screen. HDMI and DisplayPort work fine too. Switching between PC and console is easy. The built-in speakers are okay, nothing special. They are fine for casual use, but I mostly use headphones anyway. The stand feels solid and is easy to adjust, which I like. After two weeks of daily use, I’m really happy with it. If you’re looking for a high-quality gaming monitor with great picture and smooth performance, this one’s been worth it for me.

I’ve been using the TCL R84 32-inch 4K gaming monitor for a few weeks now, and it’s a good choice if you’re looking for strong picture quality without spending too much. The screen is sharp with 4K resolution, and the Mini-LED backlight with around 1400 dimming zones makes colors bright and vibrant while keeping blacks deep. HDR content looks impressive—it gets very bright (up to about 1400-1500 nits peak) and handles highlights well. For gaming, the 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time keep things smooth, and AMD FreeSync Premium helps avoid tearing. It has useful extras like USB-C with power delivery, built-in speakers, and gaming features such as on-screen crosshairs. A couple of drawbacks: It’s a VA panel, so colors shift a bit if you look from the side, and there can be some blooming around bright spots on dark backgrounds. Overall, if you want a 32-inch 4K monitor with great HDR and gaming performance at a reasonable price, this is a solid option. I’d rate it 8/10—better than many budget monitors, but not perfect for wide viewing angles.
