Q: Does this model have the desktop grade GPU or the cut down laptop version?
A: This has a mobile version of the RTX 3080.

A: This laptop has two ram slots and two m.2 slots so you can swap out both sticks of ram and add another gen 3 m.2 drive.

A: The higher VRAM is very important. I would recommend looking up some articles on this. There is a really good one that is updated at least once a year that discusses in depth the GPU choices, but there are also a fewer good older ones that confirm the vram importance. That being said, as a laptop variant I am not sure how fast any laptop GPU will be handling larger memory (>10 gigs) loads. The most in depth article I have read recommended the 3070 (so 8 gig) for a “serious” DL beginner.
