📦 UNBOXING: Inside the box, you’ll find the Galaxy Book6 Pro laptop, a USB-C charging cable, and a USB-C charging adapter that supports up to 65W. 💪 BUILD: The chassis of the Book6 Pro uses aluminum for a sleek minimalist look that doesn’t track fingerprints and is incredibly lightweight for the size. At a mere 3.51 lbs, it is reasonably light for a 16” laptop with a premium aluminum chassis. With a thickness of only 11.9 mm, it’s also easier to fit into many bags and backpacks. 🔌PORTS: Unfortunately, the Book6 Pro downgrades its port selection by removing the microSD card slot that has been included since the Galaxy Book Pro series was first introduced. If this was removed to reach the current thickness, I’m not sure if that was a compromise worth making. While I don’t expect I would want to use the microSD card slot very frequently compared to a full size SD card slot, I do feel that its omission will be missed since there isn’t otherwise an improvement to the port selection to make up for its loss. On the left side, the Book6 Pro still includes 2x Type-C Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.1 port that supports up to 8K@60hz or 5K@120Hz, and a status LED to indicate battery use or charging. On the right side of the laptop you will find a single Type-A USB 3.2 gen 1 5Gbps port and a 3.5mm audio combo jack. Overall, it’s a fairly standard port selection, but I think the regression here for the increased price is worth noting. 🔧 EXPANSION & UPGRADES: The Book6 Pro has limited room for expansion which is really unfortunate when memory and storage requirements for a lot of software seems to be increasing. The 16GB RAM is soldered across 8x2GB chips, reports a quad channel memory configuration in HWInfo and Windows Task Manager, and clocks in at 8533 MT/s On the upside, there are 2x m.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD slots, so if you want more onboard storage, you can add another without needing to replace the existing 1TB SSD (which happens to be a SAMSUNG MZVL81T0HFLB-00B in my unit). ⌨️ KEYBOARD & TOUCHPAD: The keyboard on the Galaxy Book Pro lineup has been controversial in prior years, and that hasn’t changed this year despite some notable changes. Historically, the 15”/16” Galaxy Book laptops have always had numpads, but they opted to remove the numpad for the Book6 lineup. This means the keyboard is now centered along with the trackpad. I personally like this more, but I’m sure there will be numpad enjoyers out there who will be disappointed with this change. While the key travel is pretty low compared to most laptop keyboards, I do find that my typing accuracy is quite consistent on the keyboard of the Book6 Pro. It didn’t take too much practice to get comfortable with typing on this keyboard. The power button also functions as a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication, and the keyboard is backlit. The haptic touchpad is new to the Book6 Pro, and it’s a welcome addition. Rather than mechanical clicks, the trackpad has a motor that simulates the sensation of a click, no matter where you press on the trackpad. This means that it’s more responsive compared to mechanical trackpads, and will register clicks across the full trackpad without any dead zones. You can now change the sensitivity to register a click, and change the click intensity if you prefer a more gentle or strong haptic feedback. 📺 DISPLAY: One of Samsung’s strong points is their displays, and the Book6 Pro uses a touch-enabled Samsung AMOLED display (model ATNA60HR05-0 in my unit). The display is 16” with a resolution of 2880x1800 and has a variable refresh rate between 30Hz - 120Hz for fluid motion on-screen and power-saving properties when you’re simply working on documents. It reaches 500 nits brightness in SDR content which is plenty bright, and can reach 1000 nits peak in HDR content. It’s color accurate, so professionals who need a color-accurate display should be delighted. You can select sRGB, Adobe sRGB, and DCI-P3. color space profiles in the Samsung Settings app. Samsung also has what they call an “AI Vision Booster” in the Samsung Settings app to brighten and dim based on your environment. So it should remain clear when outdoors, and not be blindingly bright when indoors. It’s enabled by default, but can also be disabled. 📹 WEBCAM & MICROPHONE: The webcam is only 1080p 30fps and unfortunately does not support Windows Hello Facial Recognition. In good lighting conditions, the image quality is decent, but I would have hoped for a 1440p image sensor at this price point. The dual microphone array appears to be right above the webcam on the edge of the lid itself, and it also sounds clear. It’s using a Cirrus Logic XU and has AI noise cancellation via the Fortemedia AI Noise Cancellation app which runs on the NPU of the Intel processor. You can use zero noise reduction if you want the highest recording quality, Fixed-Beam mode for noise reduction in standard voice calls, and 360 mode for circumstances where you have multiple people in the same room sharing your computer for a call. 🔊 SPEAKERS & HEADPHONE: Flanking the keyboard is a set of new stereo upward-firing speakers—a definite improvement over Samsung’s prior implementations. By default, Dolby Atmos is disabled despite it being an included feature. Turning on Dolby Atmos yielded a better listening experience, albeit not dramatically better like it often is on some other laptops. Even so, I did find that enabling it and using one of the Music presets yielded a decent listening experience on the speakers. Your mileage may vary, but I felt like the Dynamic preset yielded much more distortion and caused the treble to be a bit more tinny. The 3.5mm combo audio jack is also good. A headphone like the Sennheiser HD 560S has no issues being driven by the integrated amplifier without coloring the sound (at least when Dolby Atmos is disabled). When I tried using a 3.5mm analog headset, the microphone audio was loud and clear without any additional noise. ⚡ PERFORMANCE: This Galaxy Book6 Pro has an Intel Core Ultra 7 356H which does not have Arc graphics. So if you’re looking for the model with Arc graphics, you will need to opt for the much more expensive model with the Core Ultra X7 358H or look at the Book6 Ultra with dedicated graphics. If you were hoping to do some light gaming on this thin laptop, it could be done at lower resolutions with low settings, but it won’t be running games like Cyberpunk 2077 since it doesn’t use Arc graphics. Because of the lightweight graphics, I wouldn’t use this laptop for video editing, but it could certainly do some light photo editing. The Core Ultra 7 356H uses 3 different types of processing cores to balance performance and efficiency. It uses 4 Performance cores, 8 Efficiency Cores, and 4 Low-Power Efficient Cores. Bursty tasks that need maximum performance like code compilation and gaming will make use of the performance cores, while general multitasking and background tasks will be delegated to the Efficiency cores. And simpler tasks like viewing/editing a document or streamig video/music are assigned to the Low-Power Efficient cores. For example, while writing this review in Google Docs, the Windows 11 Task Manager showed only the LP cores were active while the other 12 cores were parked. In my experience, the Book6 Pro doesn’t have a ton of pre-installed bloatware. Samsung includes some useful features across the Samsung Settings app and the Galaxy Book Experience app, but they also don’t shove it into your face like some other manufacturers. If you already use a Galaxy phone or tablet, you may find features like Second screen, Quick Share, Storage Share, Camera Share, and Samsung Notes tangibly useful. But if you don’t use other Samsung devices, then these apps generally stay out of your way, and you can disable them Fan noise is also excellent on the Book6 Pro. In my mixed use scenarios, I never heard the fans, and that’s likely due to the LP cores being used most of the time. Playing a 3D game will cause the fans to kick on, but they’re still very quiet. The vast majority of my mixed use testing was done on battery, and I never experienced lag or stutter. Samsung overall has a good track record of delivering a responsive experience on their Galaxy Book lineup. 🔋 BATTERY: My real-world testing used the default “Balanced” power mode with display brightness of 70%-80% and keyboard backlighting set to 30%. Energy Saver mode also kicked in at the default 30% battery remaining, which brought the display brightness closer to 40%. With this configuration, I could achieve 9 hours of mixed use on battery. If you are using lower screen brightness, and doing very lightweight work in a browser, then you may be able to achieve closer to 12 hours. I think the Book6 Pro can handle a full typical workday of mixed use, but more demanding tasks will necessitate charging more frequently. Idle power draw is reasonably good for a Windows laptop, varying somewhere around 0.25W to 0.5W for an hour, so on a full battery, you can expect somewhere around 7-14 days before it reaches 0%. 🧐 CONCLUSION: The Galaxy Book6 Pro is for folks who want a premium laptop with a superb touch-enabled OLED display that delivers responsive performance for every day tasks. But like previous years, the launch price makes it difficult to recommend. Prior generations have had a Pro 360 model with S-Pen support and microSD card support at the same price, making this version just as expensive but with fewer features. But if it goes on a significant discount, the Book6 Pro could be a great option for someone who wants a premium laptop for general use.

This is my review of the Samsung - Galaxy Book6 Pro Laptop - Copilot+ PC - 16" 3K AMOLED Touch Screen - Intel Core Ultra 7 - 16GB Memory -1TB SSD, upon which I rate a 4 out of 5 stars. Out of the box, the laptop comes with a power adapter, USB-C to USB-C cable, and a quick start guide. The chassis of the laptop is in a flat metallic gray having a brushed finish that deters fingerprints. Opening the lid, you will find a nice sized touchpad, standard keyboard layout with speakers on the left and right side of the keyboard. Externally, the laptop has 2 USB-C charging ports, 1 USB-A charging port, 3.5mm headphone jack, 1 HDMI port, and a front facing 2MP 1080p camera with built-in microphone. To note, there are no microSD ports. This laptop is showcased by its 16" AMOLDED touch screen having a 2880 x 1800 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 1000 nits brightness to push graphics through any bright room. The Windows 11 system is supported by Windows AI Copilot and an Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 3 processor for power users demanding multitasking performance. On a different note, this laptop is only supported by an entry level graphics card, so this laptop will not support heavy gaming or intense graphic requiring programs. This laptop is also supported by 1000gb storage capacity and 16gb of system RAM enough for all your music, pictures, graphic editing, and home office needs. The lithium-ion battery is large enough to power your laptop up to 30 hours without AC intervention. There are some shortfalls in my opinion of this laptop which I'll mention here. At this price point, this laptop only has an entry level graphics card. Consider this if you like extensive video (gaming) or graphic editing. I found the speakers very basic and would need to connect them immediately to a set of reference speakers to keep me engaged. I did find the backlit keyboard lacking sufficient luminance so would not be used in darker settings. For these reasons I have deducted 1-star in my review. I hope you enjoyed reading my review and it aided in your purchasing decision.

This brand-new Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro CoPilot+ laptop is a superb combination of technology and functionality which will outperform almost all existing laptops thanks to its incorporation of a new Intel Core Ultra 7 processing unit which integrates the CPU with an advanced GPU, an image processor and an NPU. The display is an outstanding 3K AMOLED touch screen in an elegant, very compact but sturdy casing. Samsung is one of the world’s largest consumer electronic firms. It was founded in 1938 as a diversified trading company which grew to include heavy industry, chemicals, financial services and food processing. It is the largest South Korean company. A subsidiary began to focus on electronics in the late 1960s. Today Samsung is a leading manufacturer of semiconductors, cell phones, LCD panels, digital TVs, computers, tablets, audio equipment and consumer products such as kitchen appliances, laundry equipment, air conditioners and floor care products. The Samsung Book6 Pro with CoPilot is their newest entry for high-end computing use. Visually, the Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro is a stunning design with an ultra-slim beautiful slate grey body. The high contrast white-on-black keyboard has white backlighting which is activated automatically. The superb 16 inch 3K AMOLED screen seems larger because it is jet black when off and incorporates a frameless thin black edge. Overall, the impression is very sophisticated and high tech. This design would be just as much at home in a corporate boardroom as in a college dorm. Consider these incredible specifications: • Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro 360 (Model NP960XJG-KA2US) • Intel Core Ultra 7 356H CPU 4 performance cores/8 efficient cores, up to 16 hyper-threads, 25 watt base power with 80 watt turbo power mode, speeds 1.5 GHz to 4.7 GHz, 18 MB L3 cache • Integrated Intel 2.45 GHz 4 Xe Core GPU uses shared system memory • Intel Image Processing Unit version 7.5, 16MP max resolution • Integrated 5th generation NPU 50 TOPS Peak • 16 GB LP-DDR5X high efficiency 5,200 MHz RAM primary memory • 1.0 TB Samsung PCIe NVMe Gen 3 SSD fast hard drive • 15.6” IPS AMOLED-backlit touch-screen display with 2880 x 1800 (3K) resolution @ 30-120Hz and 1000 nits brightness capability, Gorilla Glass panel, supports Vision Booster software • 64 bit Windows 11 Home operating system with CoPilot+ AI • Full suite of Samsung utility programs • Bixby voice assistant built-in, also supports Alexa • 4 AKG-tuned Dolby ATMOS 4 watt stereo speakers and audio processing • Full HD (1080P) wide-angle Webcam with auto-framing and dual microphones • Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity • 2 USB-C 4.0 (up to 40 GBps), 1 USB-A 3.2 (up to 5 GBps) (All can be used for charging) • HDMI 2.1 port • WiFi 7 Wireless LAN (802.11be) provides max 46 GBps connection speed • Headphone out/Microphone in 3.5 mm port • Ultra-quiet dual cooling fans and vapor chamber cooling system • 4 cell 68 Watt-Hour Lithium Ion battery provides up to 30 hours use • Compact 65 watt USB Type C charger restores 40% of power in 30 minutes, full recharge in 90 minutes • Full size back-lit keyboard with fingerprint scanner key to unlock PC • Haptic touchpad • Fingerprint-resistant aluminum casing is certified for military-grade durability • Very slim and compact: 14.1” wide x 9.8” deep x 0.5” thick • Weight: 3.4 pounds • One year warranty on parts and labor Those features culminate in a truly powerful, capable device. It is almost as fast as dedicated gaming laptops but has the portability and features which will make it the go-to choice for business travelers. It is beautifully engineered. The solid-state hard drive and low power needs of the CPU/GPU/NPU make fan noise almost non-existent. This is a very quiet device! It seemed pretty fast, so I ran a well-regarded benchmark program (Novabench 5) on both it and four of my other computers to determine their relative performance. This test measures both CPU (general processing), GPU (graphics processing) and data storage rate so they give a good overall measure of a computer’s speed. The four computers included two desktop all-in-one PCs (an older medium powered model with a HDD and a newer model with more RAM, SSD and a more powerful CPU/GPU combination), an older Samsung laptop and a Surface 4 laptop. All computers were well-maintained, running the latest Windows versions with no other programs active. Here are the results (higher is faster): Novabench 5 Results: 2016 All-in-One Desktop (Intel i5-6400, Intel 530 GPU, 12GB ram, 1TB HD): 615 (base) 2022 All-in-One Desktop (Intel i7-1255, 16GB ram, Nvidia MX550 GPU, 1TB SSD): 1242 (+102%) 2022 Samsung Galaxy Book2 360 Laptop (Intel i7-1260, 16GB ram, Intel Iris Xe GPU, 1TB SSD): 1805 (+193%) 2021 Microsoft Surface 4 Laptop (AMD Ryzen 7 4980U, 8GB ram, Radeon GPU, 0.5TB SSD): 1851 (+201%) 2026 Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro Laptop (Intel Core Ultra 7 356H, 16 GB ram, Intel GPU/IPU/NPU. 1TB SSD): 2811 (+357%) The 56% speed advantage by this Samsung laptop over its 2022 predecessor clearly shows the massive improvement in the new Intel CPU/GPU/NPU. You will find this Samsung capable of out-performing anything you currently own (unless you have a really geeked-out special system). I loaded some graphics-intensive games and it was very smooth and responsive on all. Put this elegant notebook to work on most business software and it will never even break a sweat. Use it for photo or video editing and it will calmly do whatever you want, no drama. Samsung has done a superb integration of AI in this laptop’s functions. The NPU (Neural Processing Unit) has a 50 trillion operations per second (TOPS) rating. CoPilot requires 40 TOPS so this laptop easily handles the demands of that AI in all tasks. The screen on this laptop is incredible. It uses AMOLED technology, the same as that found on Samsung’s premium cell phones, so it is very responsive and the colors are very vivid with blacks that are truly black. AMOLED also provides the highest contrast ratio (1 million to 1) of any screen type and supports HDR video. The anti-reflective screen also adjusts its refresh rate automatically from 30 Hz up to 120 HZ (depending upon content) to conserve battery life and is protected by Gorilla Glass. The quality of the display alone justifies the price of this laptop! The AKG Dolby ATMOS sound system on this notebook is surprisingly good. I listened to some of my favorite albums from Spotify and the speakers were much better than typical for laptops. They are mounted at the sides of the keyboard, have decent volume and good stereo separation – certainly good enough for watching Netflix or YouTube videos. It also provides intelligent noise cancellation during Zoom calls. A major plus for this Samsung laptop is the outstanding battery life. I always test laptops by streaming a Netflix series on battery power with a bright screen and high speaker volume. The combination of WiFi modem usage, video rendering, screen lighting and speaker volume usually drains most laptop batteries in less than three hours. But this Galaxy Book6 lasted 14+ hours before exhausting the charge! That is long enough for seven full movies or a full season of a TV series and certainly would suffice a traveler for even the longest international flights. You can thank the ultra-efficient and power-miser Intel CPU/GPU and the new screen technology for that amazing performance. Recharge time was 90 minutes. Another advantage for travelers is the compact size (just 14.1” wide, 9.8” deep and only 0.5” thick) and very light weight – about 3.5 pounds. The USB-C power cube is tiny (about 2” x 2” x 1”) so it won’t take up any precious space or weight in your briefcase/backpack, plus it can be used to charge your other USB-C powered accessories. The notebook is nicely balanced with a great lighted keyboard and a big haptic-touchpad. It also runs very cool with dual silent fans and a vapor chamber cooling system, so those who like to literally use their laptop on their lap will be pleased. Other bonus features: Built-in Bixby and Alexa voice assistant, a nice fingerprint reader key, auto-framing by the 1080P wide-angle webcam, WiFi 7 connectivity, military-spec durable aluminum case, ability to run multiple monitors simultaneously, adjustable keyboard backlighting level, a nice suite of bundled utility apps, great integration with the Samsung family of phones and tablets. What are the weak points? Really, I had to dig deep to find any complaints. • It would have been nice to have a form-fitting cloth carrying case included (as many other notebook brands provide.) • Previous Galaxy Books had a separate keypad. If you do a lot of data entry this feature will be missed, but removing it did provide a better typing keyboard layout. But these are really just minor quibbles. When you consider all of its power and functionality you will agree that the price is a bargain. I can enthusiastically recommend the new Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro CoPilot+ for both serious stay-at-home power users and for those who need a perfect travel companion.
