Great amplifier
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This amplifier fits the need for the everyday car stereo enthusiast. The footprint of this amp is SMALL. I installed this under my driver seat and used the kicker 8 amp kit. Now before anyone criticizes this amp does ask for a 4 AWG kit and I spoke with a rep at Alpine who told me that the kicker 8 AWG kit is just fine for my purposes especially since I was installing it under my driver seat. My reason for installing it under my driver seat was A) I did not want any aftermarket items showing in my car B) this also shortened the power cable requirements thus allowing me to use the 8 AWG kit. This amp is a powering a JL Audio 8in W3 woofer. My car is 2013 Honda Accord EX-L V6 Coupe. I kept everything stock as far as head unit and stock amp which powers my Polk Audio DB series component and rears. They sound great using the stock amp but I am sure better if I used a more powerful/cleaner amp. The JL Audio sub is in a custom sealed box which is mounted under the rear deck with the original sub removed. The entire rear deck, top and underneath have been sound dampened, the entire trunk including the spare tire well, has been sound dampened. The draw is around 300W RMS and this has been a VAST sound improvement over the stock "premium" sound system. The Alpine M500 amp never even gets warm and this is running for long periods of time, installation was a snap only took 25 mins to install amp (if you know what you are doing and do your homework on where to run your wires). This amp is truly a winner.

Not bad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the amp but replaced a JBL amp because it failed. The JBL does have more power than the Alpine. I now have received the JBL back from warranty and both of them are now installed. If I had to pick or the other though it would be the JBL. Of the 5 amps in the car all but one are alpine which is never a bad bet.

Awesome!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This amp really puts out the power! I have it paired with one Alpine SWS-12D4 and Metra 12" single ported enclosure TCBXP-112. I have it setup with the integrated line in converter thats featured with this amp so no remote wire needed. It has instant response for when the stereo is turned on and off. Couldn't ask for a better Amp at this price point and size! This was installed in my 16 Taurus SHO and absolutely SLAMS!

Perfect Amp!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this amp to go with a 12" sub and enclosure I laying around. Installed it in in about 20 minutes and it sounds amazing! I ended up purchasing the bass control knob as well as I wanted to keep my head unit stock. This amp puts out more than enough power with plenty to spare! Really doesn't heat up much at all, small enough to fit under a seat or In the spare tire well in the trunk. Good build and great performance for the price.

Bang for the Buck
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Read several reviews online needed to replace 13 yr old crunch amp ...Saw this amp installed in the parking lot that easy size is very nice much smaller power is very suitable for 2-10" sub box f350 diesel crew 4x4 custom. Cabinet I'm very happy with sound with alpine tuner and infinity speakers with Polk subs would buy again !!

Great amplifier! Easy installation!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This amp is clean and easy to install. The only wire I had to run to the trunk was the power wire. Since our 2014 Honda Accord coupe had a factory sub woofer, we just used that pair of wires at the factory sub and wired it directly into the amp. No line level converter or RCA cables needed. The factory touch screen subwoofer control works great with this setup. The line level input with also function as a remote turn on for the amp. No need to find and tap into power in the fuse box and run that wire to the trunk. Amp is powerful and runs cool, the crossover does a great job. The bass boost control is excellent. I am running one 15 inch sub with plenty extra power. I ran a #4 fused power wire and #4 ground, I have zero alternator whine or any thumping when turning the car on. Highly recommend this series of amplifiers. Great quality, features and value in its class.

Alpine Amp "Need I say more"
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seriously, this is my second Alpine amp and it is killing it! :) The amp pushes a 10" Alpine Type R, i picked up used from craigslist and it really hits and sounds like a 12" sub. The price was $199, but they matched an online price with crutchfield for $149, so you just can't beat that. They don't match all online prices only with their selected competition, but luckily I found one and saved $50. Get it, you will be very happy and by the way, I used to run the same amp a few years back on a 12" type R and that pounded so much that it was too much bass for my little vw bug that I owned. Cheers!

Q: Questionwill this amp be able to push two alpine type r 12wd 2ohm subs if i put one amp per subwoofer?
Asked by wyane.
- A:Answer Yes it will. Very well at that. Honestly one amp would decently run both subs. But no doubt one per sub at 500w at 2ohms will hit hard.

Q: QuestionI got a mrv-m500 and then a 2 ohm dual voice alpine 12” sub.I believe I messed up in ordering the sub.Looking online now I’m reading i can’t get 2ohm giving me 500rms am i correct. What is my option only 4 ohm power?
Asked by Ron.
- A:Answer Yup you have to run it at 4 ohms with that sub which will let your amp put out 300 watts. If you can return your sub and get a dual 4 ohm model I would do that. Or get another amp that's 1 ohm stable and wire your sub to 1 ohm.
