The unit picks up errant radio signals and amplifies them. I wanted a radio to listen to at work at a low level. This one has the same volume for static and sound at low volume. It sucks. Don't buy it. Mine is going back to BB tonight and I will be getting the universal home kit. Then I can use my external computer speakers.

I own a sirius stiletto 100. Despite my remote working just fine with my other docks (car/home) this 4021 does not work at all with my remote. I purchased new batteries for my remote (just to be sure) but to no avail. I'm off to return. It defeats the purpose to keep owning when you have to change manually all the time (certainly not worth $150).
I've had the same experience with Altec Lansing tech support as others on here: calling them was useless and they offered no input and seemed to have very little product knowledge. The sound quality was good but the antenna strength was very poor. Altec Lansing promises Sirius compatibility and I experienced anything but that. Purchase with caution.

I purchased this product with the hopes of playing my new SL 100 in the office. There was no reception when I connected everything. When I called the company (Altec Lansing) for advice/suggestions I got no response!! No one at Altec Lansing knew about the product (from a technical perspective) nor did anyone return any of the calls despite numerous promises. Needless to say I'm on my way back to return it.

i bought this and took it back once thinking maybe we got a bad antenna... the second one was just as bad and would only work right if you held it out the window. needless to say the second one will be going back now.

I'm about to return this item again. I purchased it in early Feb 2008. It lasted two weeks and then died entirely. I exchanged it at the store. The second one lasted about 3 weeks and it's now dead too. This product is not worth the trouble.

I received this as a Christmas gift from my wife. I have a Stilletto SL100 receiver and was pondering how to get the antenna in a good location to receive a signal. After a few minutes of trying, it finally dawned on me that, because we have a wireless network already established in our home, I could utilize the Internet radio setting to listen to my music. By doing that, I can place this speaker system anywhere in my home as well as outside (within range of the network) during the summer while I work in my yard.
I don't know if all Sirius Radio receivers have the Internet Radio setting, but if you have that setting and can (or already have) setup a wireless network, this will eliminate the need for the provided antenna.
I love this product. It will get alot of use.
