i really wanted to love these headphones. true wireless from a company with a decent name under a hundred bucks (on sale) with a host of innovated features and great sound..what more could you ask for? well you could ask for them to work more than 30 minutes. brand new on a full charge i was getting between 20 and 30 minutes before the left bud would die giving me the low battery warning...didn't even last a full workout...even on a light day. and im not cranking these, at best i had them at mid level volume....if these were being used full volume you would probably get 15 minutes. second...at the 5 week mark the power button on the left bud went. it got stuck and i was never able to turn it off because it was stuck in a state of constant discharge draining the battery case. that was the last straw, thank god i bought the insurance. i returned them and ended up buying a pair of bone induction headsets from aftershokz, which are by far the best workout headsets i have ever used... so if you want to take a chance on these, here is the good... the sound is really good, bass is actually pretty good. surprisingly good, mids and highs sound great, very well tuned to a wide range of music. if you have listened to an entry level pair of bose or jaybirds wireless i would say they are a hair under sound quality of those. and in my opinion better sound than the powerbeats 3 which are very bass heavy. Bluetooth connection was good. but if you have any experience with true wireless headsets anything under Bluetooth 5.1 has issues on connectivity... i had dropouts here and there but not a deal breaker on that end, they would reconnect in half a second and resume. my wife's jaybirds had the same issues. the battery case is qi wireless compatible, as far as i know, the only charging case on the market that has this feature...in the few weeks i had it, i was able to get almost 3 charges onto the earbuds before the case was drained and needed to be recharged. phone calls were easy to navigate because of the audible cues and sound quality was very good. on the other end i was told by several people that my voice quality sounded great while i was talking to them. i really wanted to love these....if they came close to the advertised usage time, heck if they lasted an hour and a half per charge i probably would have exchanged for another pair...but these things just don't live up to their potential.. half an hour just does not cut it, then they became unusable after a few weeks...if they drop down to 40 or 50 bucks and you want to take a chance make sure you buy the replacement plan. me personally i'll pass until they work out all the bugs from this 1st attempt.

I bought these at bestbuy, where I think these are exclusively available. I'm posting this review because it was very hard to find reviews of these buds, and I'm looking to help out anyone whose interested in trying these out. First of all, they do sound very good. I think they have great bass response, if you're into that. I normally have the bass on my phone's equalizer set to high, but with these I had to turn it down all the way. Sometimes, there's still too much bass, so if you don't like bass (muddy perhaps, though i'm not an audiophile), then you won't like these buds at all. Fit is pretty good too. The buds include lots of fit options, including foam and silicone covers, and I ran with them for three miles and they didn't budge. With that said, the reason why I'm giving them three stars is: [1] battery life; [2] bad connection; and [3] the charging case. Battery life is poor. Websites reported four hours, but the box only said three. I just got a 20% battery warning after using them for an hour and five minutes. I'm assuming they were completely charged, because they were in the case and the case was charged, but there's no way of knowing how much battery life is left because neither the buds nor the case have a battery level indicator. I'm shocked that they omitted this. Anyway, such short battery life is borderline useless to me, and that's the main reason why i'm returning them. As for the connection, walking through city streets my the buds lost a connection to each other and my phone often when i turned my head. It also didn't matter which side of my body my phone was on. So that was annoying. The charging case is HUGE! its like three times the size of the samsung gear iconx 2018 case, and four times the size of the apple airpods. There's no way the case would comfortably fit in my pants pocket, so that sucks too. Some last points, you can use the left earbud while the right one is in the charging case, but you can't use the right one with the left bud in the case. Finally, I knew that the buds only had four controls on them, power on, play/pause, and voice assistant, but not having a way to change volume or play the next song seems kinda silly. I could live without these controls, but why??? (You're supposed to be able to reject a call too, but I couldn't get that to work).

      Good, but Underwhelming

I just purchased these headphones; and, I will be returning them tomorrow. All is not bad with this product; however, a couple of key features that I prefer to not live without are what has these going back to Best Buy. SOUND QUALITY I actually enjoyed the overall sound quality. It provided a nice amount of bass; and, the ambient noises were to a minimum. I am doing some editing with these in my ear while my fiance is watching television. I could not hear the television; and, I only hear the fan because it is quite loud and close. FIT The fit of the buds makes me feel secure. While I clearly have not exercised in them, they feel secure enough that I could go running or cycling on the trails without any major concerns. I did that dance that 3 & 4 (the dancing twin girls' ACTUAL names from Charlie Brown's Christmas during the "Linus & Lucy" dance; they're in purple dresses) did; and, the stayed secured in my ears. However, now having them in for a couple of hours, they are beginning to become uncomfortable; and, I am not a fan of not being able to have headphones in for at least 3-4 hours. I am only at the end of hour two. THINGS THAT ARE CONTRIBUTING TO THE RETURN 1. The pain in my ears currently. 2. The left bud keeps disconnecting from the right bud. I don't care about this interference stuff I've read. The fact is that both headphones are in my ears, and my cell phone is directly beside me. There should be no disconnection. 3. (MOST IMPORTANT IN MY BOOK) I was NOT aware that there were no volume or track functions on this device. I did not think I would have to research that in 2018. Just as cars come with power steering, these devices should have the functionality to change songs and adjust the volume to one's liking. If I cannot do that, then it defeats the whole principle of why we became wireless in the first place. If I wanted to change the music and adjust the volume by utilizing my phone, I would have purchased corded earphones. That MAJORLY detracts from this product. I will likely go back to my Bluetooth wired headphones made by a competitor. There's room for growth. If #3 was to be fixed, I would reconsider these for a future purchase.

Enjoy the sound, but customer service is awful

I purchased these headphones in March 2018 and initially loved them. The sound quality is great and sounds full with plenty of bass. However, one issue was that the case had a finicky latch that was very difficult to open, but I just made due with the issue. However, the latch continued to get more and more difficult to open and eventually broke within several weeks of purchase. I reached out to customer service at Altec Lansing to explain the issue and they agreed to send me a replacement case after I provided them with the receipt. At that point, I continue to make due with the case and waited for the replacement. One month went by, two months went by, three months went by, and then earlier this month the case no longer charges the headphones. I reached out again to customer service via phone in the first week of July and a service rep told me that "they would be sent next week". Of course I didn't receive them and then reached out to the company via twitter. I was told they didn't have any replacement cases on hand but would have some "soon" and that my case "would be escalated". I asked if there was an ETA as to when I would get the case, and I was told "we're working to get it shipped out ASAP". So here we are four months after purchase with a faulty item that is no fault of my own, and I still have no replacement case, with no ETA, and my headphones can no longer be charged. My goal with this review is not to slag the company but I do feel that it is important to know that if anyone else decides to purchase these headphones and has an issue, that a four month waiting period (and counting) is what I've been having to deal with to try and get the product working again. Very unfortunate and I won't be purchasing Altec Lansing products in the future.

      Decent wireless buds

Okay, I've been on the search for the right sport buds that is affordable, good the for the gym, stays in my ears and sounds good. I've always used Jaybirds so when they released the Run I naturally got that based on my positive experience with them. They were good except the one key thing...connections. Altec is fairly unknown to me but given the price I figured it was worth a try. I have to say I'm pretty pleased. Fit and comfort is good. They provide the foam tips which is good for noise isolation and staying in the ear. Sound quality is a bit heavy on the bass so if you love bass. It certainly isn't as clear as the Run or Bose but then I guess for the price point it is good (at least for my gym use). I had to adjust the equalizer on my music app to fit my taste. Battery life is decent also. I've gotten around 3.5 hours of use with music at moderate volume. Fit and finish is nothing to write home about. Doesn't really say expensive nor cheap. The case which also recharges the buds is non-script utilitarian. Placing the buds back in can be slightly fussy as you have to make sure to align it properly with the red lights turning on. You can see them charging through the case. So far I haven't had any disconnection like some other more expensive ones I tried. The only thing I don't like is the constantly blinking lights when it is on. I will stick with these for now as it works.

I have owned a few True Wireless Earbuds before and have always found a few problems like short battery, lack of sound quality, or issues pairing the earbuds together. All that changed with the Altec Lansing True Evo. PROS: - Great sound quality with nice bass. No they aren't the best sound quality that you could find within headphones but you shouldn't expect that with earbuds without a cord and in such a small size. - True wireless with no cords connecting the earbuds. The connection between the 2 earbuds has not failed me yet. - Qi wireless charging is a nice feature if you already have a phone or charging case with Qi built-in. While Qi charging pad is not needed to charge the earbuds, it is a nice added bonus. - Battery life seems very good for true wireless earbuds and the ability to quickly charge them within the case is nice. Cons: - It can be a bit tricky to align the earbuds within the case to ensure they are charging, but I've found that once you close the lid on the charging case they align and charge just fine. - Bluetooth setup to your device may take a couple of tries. However once the setup is complete, there does not seem to be any problem maintaining that connection.

I've been looking for a set of true wireless headphones for use with my tv when watching shows and movies at night and have tried a few out. sound is overall good quality and base can be good at times. that is also dependent on figuring out witch tips fit your ears perfectly as i found some completely remove the low end but once you get that figured out they are good. there is no noticeable audio lag when using with a sony strdn1080 stereo for watching movies and overall volume is good. they can get louder than others i have tried. once turned on they will pair to what ever device they were connected to last within a couple of seconds. i have yet to find a way to force pairing mode but disconnecting them from the current device will put it into pairing mode automatically. i love the wireless charging feature that these have as that makes it simpler to charge them and the spots on the case that let the light through to show you when they are done charging is a bonus. the noise canceling ability of these is also better than any other earbud type headphone i have tried even the sony w1000x.

Let's start with some facts: These are only available at Best Buy so It is hard to judge the the reasonableness of the price since there is no competition. Second at $100 these are far from the top of the line from a price point. The sound is very good. The bass is heavy- possibly too much. I guess this depends upon your personal preference. Like others I had frequent bluetooth drops when my iphone 6+ was in my pocket. I switched to my ipad and used them for working out on a stationary bike. Under these conditions the signal was never lost. I then walked up to 20 feet away to use weight machines and had no drop. I went back to using them with my iphone (6+) and mounted the phone in a forearm strap. I again had signal drops (very annoying). Otherwise, they are comfortable, fit well and isolate outside noise well. I used the foam ear pads which I really like. For $100 they are contenders. They have better bass and sound isolation than my $250 Bose Sound Sport Free. I think the mids and highs are slightly better on the Bose. This may not be noticeable when you are panting on a bike or treadmill. I think they are worth a try and hope a future software patch fixes the drops.
