This movie was made in 2015 and was never given a theatrical release. Was promised by posters that had street dates on it that never appeared. A fantastic and chilling comeback to the original roots of the Amityville Saga. Bella Thorne shows her full potential as an actress and does a superb job at showing us what she is made of. Hats off to the rest of the cast as well. The Amityville Horror House is back in business and is alive and well and plays on the very fear of what never lays to rest, the murders that took place back in 1974, with the Devil at the helm! Director Franck Khalfoun takes us on another terrifying journey, this time into the jaws of what has been known as one of the most infamous haunted houses in America and does it quite surprisingly. Aside from all of the silly branch off movies with "Amityville" in the title, The Amityville Horror finally has a worthy sequel along with its prequel from 1982, I would consider this to be The Amityville Horror part 3, considering that Amityville 3D was a stand alone for the 3D craze back in 1983. Amityville The Awakening gets a 4 star rating and I say that I wouldn't mind seeing another chapter with this house, but if it doesn't happen, I am happily left with this one and completely satisfied with it. If you are an avid Amityville Horror fan, then you will appreciate it. If you don't like it, then you just don't understand it and that's ok too.

Amityville The Awakening stars Bella Thorne as a young girl who moves into the dreaded house with her mother, younger sister, & brother who is in a comatose type state. The demons get a hold of him and use him to try and kill everyone within the house in one way or another. There was good suspense and effects. The movie reminded me of Shut-In with some similar plot types. The movie was pretty good and worth checking out.

After a ridiculously long wait for this movie to be released in any form, its finally out. My opinion is that it did not disappoint though I still prefer the original trilogy out of the 12 or so Amityville Horror movies. This movie has scares when they were needed but I felt it lacked something which was scary music, it would have made the atmosphere all the better.
