A decent PC with some major let downs.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this PC a few days ago hoping to give it a glowing review; unfortunately it has some major build issues that prevent me from recommending it. I initially was drawn to this unit because the stock pictures advertised a liquid cooling unit. These photos are not correct, as the cooling unit appears to be a stock heat sync fan mounted directly to the CPU. It is loud, annoyingly loud, even as I sit here with a single web page open and no other applications running. If I start gaming or streaming, it gets much louder. The second advertising issue is more aesthetic. The stock photos show slick black and grey wiring on the inside of the case, this is also wrong. The wires are a mix of red and yellow which creates an ugly contrast with the rest of the case. Those major gripes aside, the PC runs fine, but they take a significant chunk of the value away for me personally. I'll have to spend more money and time upgrading them, which defeats the purpose of buying a pre-built PC in the first place. As for performance, the ASUS performs as can be expected for a model with it's specs. Every new game I have runs at a smooth 60+ fps on ultra or high specs at 1080p without issue. The ASUS Armory is a good edition and is a relatively easy to use application that shows real time performance and usage stats, though most may just use it to change the color of the case. Speaking of the case, it comes with a transparent side panel which I hesitate to install until the internal components are replaced, but it's a nice piece to have all the same. Plenty of USB slots on the front and back, and a nifty removable tray for transferable storage units. Overall this is a okay PC if you can find it on sale and if the noise doesn't bother you. If you're going to be doing video games or rendering, the stock CPU fan will get annoying and you will need to upgrade to a liquid cooling unit. Unfortunately; this PC falls short at the asking price in my opinion, and I cannot recommend it.

Posted .Dear Austen,
Indeed, it is a decent PC. Do understand your disappointment with the quality of the product you received and the inconvenience this may have caused you.
The GL12CX comes in different variants. The besyBuy model was advertised as air-cooled, not water-cooled. And the power supply cables are not in black and gray, rather in multiple colors.
Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at [email protected] and I would be more than happy to help.
Thank you for choosing an ASUS product.
Regards,
Rodel

Great for beginners. Annoying to upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I bought this with my stimulus check cause I thought I was going to be bored but I still had to work. I haven’t had a gaming pc since 2014 so it was nice. After awhile I got greedy and wanted to make upgrades. Which this PC makes impossible almost. The case is so tight and has so much unnecessary metal. It also has one 80mm fan in the back but room for 2 more 120mm fans which I had to take the plastic front cover off and the top plastic off to upgrade. One 80mm case fan didn’t cut it for me. I didn’t realize how small this case was but I managed to: - upgrade the PSU from the 500w proprietary model to a Corsair 750w modular one. Which was a super tight squeeze. - upgraded to a 2080 super from the original one. - added a liquid cooling pump to replace the stock heat sink for the cpu - upgraded to 32 GB of the Corsair RBG ram. I should have just built my own but I didn’t think I was going to invest so much time into using it. The 2060 limited my ability on graphics in some games like shadow of the tomb raider. The cpu fan was so loud I couldn’t stand it so I looked for a liquid cooling option. Overall not a bad pc but some of the parts are kinda cheap to keep costs down. People who wanna make upgrades be beware.

My 1 month review
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For my first gaming PC this is a decent system. Can be better with a few upgrades. The i7 9700f is a great CPU and perfect for this application. The CPU cooler is a stock intel cooler not a AIO as the picture states (I dont blame Bestbuy for this its more manufacturer) The motherboard is a propritary z390 board specifically made for this machine. And will only feature a single 12v rgb header No 3pin 5v. There are plenty of usb ports on this thing the only thing missing is a USB type-C port. the RTX 2060 turbo is capable enough to run about 90% or better of games at ultra settings, all tho the thing will get LOUD being a blower style card. Boot up time is blazing fast from off to windows 10 home edition due to the 256 nvme ssd. Just make sure you install your programs on the 1tb hdd or it will fill up fast... there is also a spot to install another. Cable routing in this system could have been better in my opion but considering its a mass produced build its done decently. The only case fan is a 80mm rear fan altho the case itself has two more spots for 120mm fans. one on top and one in the bottom front of the case. the case itself is more black than gray and i wish they would have spent the possibly extra 5$ to powder coat the inside of the case to match the exterior especilly since this has a optional plexiglass side pannel.

Great for gaming!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have played over 150hrs on this system already. I am very happy with this Asus. Handles all games with ease, fan will kick on every now and then can be a little louder than some people like. But that's what you need to keep this monster cool. No dips in the FPS, holds steady for great gaming experience with the 6GB gpu. More USB and graphic ports than you'll need. The 256ssd and 1TB drive are plenty. Highly recommend for gamers! Wasn't too pricey and isn't cheap either. Has awesome customization interferface with hotkeys to change or monitor the performance of the ram, processor clock and GPU.

Dependable Asus Quality and Aesthetic
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fourth Asus PC and knew I would love it. The specs versus price is reasonable. The tower is sleek and minimalist with Aura Sync for color/pattern preferences. USB and headphone ports in a great spot for quick access at an angle. Verticle vents for optimal cooling with fans, which are tolerably moderate for noise pollution. Perfect for VR- paired with Oculus Quest 2 seamlessly.

Q: QuestionIs all of the hardware upgrade able?
Asked by Jonathan.
- A:Answer Yes it is ...I bought one then added a larger ssd drive. So now I have 1 256 ssd a 512 ssd and a 1tb. Computer should last about 6,7 years before any upgrades are needed and then it should only be a graphics card.

Q: QuestionI have this computer and it's great. If I wanted to upgrade to a 2070 Super or 2080, can anyone recommend an appropriate power supply that will work with these potential setups? From the website, it states 500W and 700W models.
Asked by TJBR.
- A:Answer Hiya. I upgraded it with a 2080 super and a 750w modular PSU from Corsair. The psu sucked putting in cause I had to squeeze it in and I had to remove the bracket with the hard drive. Also to fit a girthier gpu, I recommend taking off the metal bar with the rgb light on it. This case is kinda hard to make modifications with

Q: QuestionWhat type of Motherboard is included in this? How about the Power supply specs?
Asked by Praximus.
- A:Answer Power Supply is 500 W, the mother board is strong enough to support both a 2080TI and a I9 9900K. Only one slot for GPU, no M.2 slots but there is one slot that you can run a SSD Microchip style card, there is also two slots for a standard HHD and SSD 2.4. I hope this helps..

Q: QuestionSo how is this computer cooled? It says online that it’s liquid cooled but in the specs it says it’s air cooled but makes no mention of a fan? It looks like a promising computer but seems like you need to be more specific
Asked by DannyBoy.
- A:Answer Asus has dropped the ball and falsely advertised this product. I think Best Buys hands are clean here. The product is completely air cooled.... there is no liquid. The only liquid would be the sweat from your hard earned money being spent on this falsely advertised product..
Answered by Concernedbuyer
Q: QuestionWhat kind of cpu cooler is in this rig, and is every part in here from asus, and how many fans are on the gpu.
Asked by Pcmaster.
- A:Answer It doesn’t come with the cooler when you buy it, asus put the wrong picture model. It sucks

Asked by Anderfels.
- A:Answer Yes you can. You will just have to tweek the display settings/resolution

Q: QuestionWill this be able to run half life alyx?
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer Will run it just fine. If you are into online gaming, I would suggest getting a extra ssd drive for it. I bought an extra 512 gig drive and installed. I run World of tanks , Eve online and Star trek online.
