Workable option for those willing to put in time.
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Pros : 3080 TUF non OC - One of the better AIB's 11700KF - An absolute powerhouse boosting up to 5GHZ. Greatwall Semi Modular 750W Gold PSU - "A" Tier on LTT Forums. Case handle (If that matters to you, for my travel its handy) Meh : 16GB of no-name ram is questionable, but at least its 3200mhz, and DOES work in other computers (make sure to set XMP). Motherboard has some nice features (Beefy VRM Heatsinks, AX Wifi, M.2 heatsink (for Gen4 slot), but cannot change cpu clock ration (overclock) on the KF processor. Cons : 1x 82mm exhaust fan, and a similar size cpu fan on a tin soda can heatsink. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone saying that it takes $300+ to make the computer useable obviously doesn't know what they're talking about. Although you have to remove the GPU bracket, you can fit a 240mm AIO in this case (See pictures). When I purchased it off amazon (ID-Cooling or something like that), Shipping and taxes ended up being $65. If you're going to go this route, some things to keep in mind: You're going to need to put the radiator in before the GPU and its going to be a TIGHT fit. You're going to want to remove the motherboard (to fit a new backplate depending on the AIO you get) and the IO shield is a PITA to remove. It'll feel like there is a screw that you might have left in, but if you get the angle just right, it'll pop out. You'll want to have some flush-cuts (small wire cutters) to make space to put the fan screws through the front, do this while the motherboard is out to reduce the risk of getting a stray piece of case on the motherboard / under the motherboard. You will not be able to mount the AIO "Properly" (Tubes should not be at the top of the RAD like this because of air bubbles but I'm okay with spending $65 every 2-3 years to replace an AIO) After everything was said and done, I don't even break 60 degrees under heavy load. (Benchmarks, 4k Gaming, etc.) tl/dr : With the current computer market, this computer is a great buy. With a 10% off coupon you can get this computer @ around $1,800 which is essentially MSRP for all of the components, but you're going to want to address the cooling issues before you cook the CPU into oblivion. This PC will NOT come close to it's potential right out of the box, regardless of what ASUS says. (Also this will probably void your warranty so if you decide to modify your system, definitely keep that in mind)

Save $200 and buy a second ssd CASE SWAPS ARE A LOT LIKE OPEN HEART SURGERY I’ve been an electrician for years and this was one of the most nerve racking experiences with electronics or electricity that I have ever had. (And I’ve worked with line wires and nothing more than some duct tape insulation) Before I plugged this thing in I estimated that there was a 10% chance that it wouldn’t be completely fried. The amount of times that I dropped screwdrivers onto very small and expensive components was sickening. Before you listen to these plug and play wizards who have maybe done 2 or 3 case swaps they’re whole life, take my advice and try not to swap the case… they’re are plenty of places you can cut holes in this case for the liquid cooler and more fans. You are clearly buying this for (performance/cost) and not looks at the $1799 price in 2022 INSTALLED RAM CAN NOT HAVE XMP ENABLED The setting for xmp in the bios can not be enabled for this stock 16gb RAM THE 3080 TUF HAS ONLY 10GB VRAM AND NOT 12GB Also expect some sag if you change cases NO INSTRUCTIONS I don’t know if I lost them or what but I was doing a lot of googling to figure out motherboard plugs (luckily they’re labeled) PROS :-:- too many to count Running heaven at avg 300 fps on max settings 3080 setup for under 1,000,000 in 2022 Very strong carrying handle on the original case Stock led strips inside; all controllable from asus armory crate Most powerful setup that I’ve ever seen Very little tweaking necessary Multi fan controller on back side of case( think it has 7 fan outputs) 1 cpu fan channel, 2 main fan channels, aio pump channel Multiple RGB HeaderS 2gpu slots Internal Intel cpu graphics for troubleshooting Very strong external wifi antenna included I used an ID cooling 360 cpu cooler for $100 but might only fit 240 in original case Open box Corsair 5000d case for $130 with many fan slots and filters

Great computer!!
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed. All the other reviews are accurate yes this PC runs hot, though with a $14-19 fan the noice can be EXTREMELY reduced. Also you could get the Vetroo cooler and that keeps your computer working more “normal”. If you want to go all out like probably most of the people that are buying this PC. I would recommend buy a case and a better CPU cooler and you be great!! Good luck people!!! The pictures attached took a long time to figure out but it can be done. Minus 1 star because of the airflow case problem

The Design of this case is a DISASTER
||Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. The CPU, GPU, and motherboard are good, especially at this price. Don't buy if you have no time to rebuild it. Extremely awful cooling, I could only use it for 30 minutes, then it would overheat and automatically shut down. This PC only had a poor 90mm fan and a triple heat pipe air cooling for its 11th gen i7 and 3080, which was unbelievable. When I wanted to add some case fans and change the air cooling to liquid cooling, I found out that the design of this case is a disaster. The GPU would always block the way of my AIO. Seems like they didn't want to give users any extra space to put more fans. You can only install two 120mm case fans on the front panel, if you are willing to remove the baffle under the case. And of course there is no place for you to fix a fan on the upper part. In the end, I gave up struggling, and tried a simple solution after a few days of hard work (even the AIO I bouthgt is also ROG STRIX, this case is not compatible with it), I wired an 80mm fan to the top, then removed the side panel, and hung my AIO fans outside the case with zip tie. It looks not that good, but at least it works.

Great deal with a free FIGHTER JET sound effects!!
||Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Awesome parts put into a airtight case , with no intake . An 88mm exhaust and a 88mm 3heat pipe cpu cooler is all you have for cooling. I play Conquerors Blade with max settings and it starts to thermal throttle around 1-2hrs and than it will automatically shutdown . CPU is only at 50% load with 95+ Celsius . GPU at 50% load and 60-65C. I swapped the case for a Corsair5000D airflow (go YouTube Gamer Nexus for come cheap and good cases ) and added 10fans now it runs at 75C (still using the original cpu cooler) , planning on custom looping it . Still worth it for me after an extra $250 and time spent for rebuilding it into a new case. Btw if u get the Bestbuy store card u get 10% cash back which is like $200 and than you can have a free case or AIO. Friendly reminder read the other reviews please , there are other solutions for the cooling problem , but I think Case > CPU cooler > modding the original case . Great Starting Point! Needs to be Rebuilt
||Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.I believe that this is a great PC if you're willing to put in a little work! I bought this when it was $1800. A couple of days later it dropped to $1600 and Best Buy was kind enough to refund me $200 after contacting their customer support. Thanks Best Buy! Someone mentioned that this build has "great guts," and I agree. A TUF Gaming 3080 10GB (I received the non-OC and LHR version) with an i7-11700KF is a pretty hard combo to beat. The 512 GB SSD, 2 TB HDD, and RAM it comes with is fast and great too! But, out of the box, the computer runs extremely hot and is pretty unusable. I couldn't even load up into a game of Warzone because the CPU would exceed 100 C and crash. This is because the case, the little 80 mm rear exhaust fan, and the heat sink it comes with are not sufficient. For its current price point of $2100, there should be way better cooling with more airflow and more fans (e.g., a 120 mm exhaust fan in the rear, three 120 mm exhaust fans at the top, and two 140 mm intake fans in the front). Maybe a perforated front mesh panel to improve airflow? If you end up buying this build, I highly recommend swapping cases because of several reasons. The case itself is very difficult to work with if you're trying to install a quality AIO or air cooler. I don't even think there are places to install screws for an AIO (a review said they had to zip tie their fans to the case!). Also, the case is also too small. I tried to install a Noctua NH-D15, but it was too big for the case. I also tried to install the Corsair H100i as well but there really wasn't a place to mount the radiator unless you just left it in the front not screwed to anything. In the end, I put everything into an NZXT H510 Elite (which doesn't have the best airflow but is easy to work with and looks cool) and installed an AIO, the Kraken X63 I believe. Since then, I can play Warzone and the temps for both the GPU and CPU never exceed 68 C. The CPU actually stays below 60 C for the most part. I've also only crashed once during a game, and I believe it was because I was running MSI Afterburner along with Warzone, not because of the computer overheating. Elden Ring runs with temps in the low to mid 50s. In all, at the price I bought this computer at, it was a great value. Hopefully ASUS improves the design and cooling of their prebuilt PCs in the future because the potential is there!

Great Guts in a wimpy body. 3080 + I7 11700KF
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. The computer has quality parts stuffed in to a hot box with poor cooling. Asus Tuff gaming 3 fan 3080 with an intel I7-11700kf and 16 gigs of Hyundai ram @ 3200. This thing has the power to play any games at 1440p or even 4K. But it has no front fans and the worst CPU cooler I have ever seen on a computer, never mind a ROG STRIX labeled product. my solution was to buy an inexpensive high flow case and a 240mm AIO, both MSI from Bestbuy for an additional 180 dollars. Now its much better looking and runs cool and quiet.

Posted .Dear PCBuilder,
We do understand your concern about the cooling system on the PC.
The cooling system is adequate to dissipate heat efficeintly while the computer is under heavy load. It is normal for the desktop, with the same hardware configuration and regardless of the manufacturer, to generate more heat than normal while under heavy load especially during gaming, WINDOWS Update and antivirus scan. When system resource utilization is high, this will generate more heat than normal and tends to trigger the fan to spin at full-throttle. Please ensure the air ventilations are free from obstructions in order to have an efficient air flow for better heat dissipation. While gaming, please ensure no resource hungry applications are running in the background, this will definitely spike the temperature. The heat or temperature does decreases or normalizes once system resource utilization goes down.
Should you need further assistance with the product, please email me at cl-rodel@asus.com and I would be more than happy to help. Or, you are most welcome to call Product Support Hotline at: 1(888) 678-3688. Also, you can chat with an ASUS live support agent at: http://bit.ly/AsusLiveChat.

Stay away from open box desktop
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I brought an "excellent" condition open box item. I was expecting something like new. However, when I got it, the package box was dirty and worn. It looks like very old. The user manual is also very dirty inside. I turned on the machine, the fan spins like crazy and it shutted down suddenly. I found the CPU cooler was totally loose and the CPU easily got over 100C. What is even worse, I found the GPU was bent and the there was a gap between vram and the heatsink! This machine is totally a garbage to me if the GPU is also defective! It must be abused, far away from "excellent". They didn't check it carefully before selling it to the next customer. So disappointment. I will never buy any open box item again. If there's new item available, I may consider.

- A:Answer Yes it is clearly a b560-g board. I downloaded the manual for it to find the extra chassi fan pins etc. But it has been locked so you cannot apply the bios/firmware for it. Only the G15E firmware can be applied. This also locks the overclocking options available in the normal b560-g.

- A:Answer The NVMe is the black heatsink covered stick right below the CPU and above the graphics card. It is kinda underneath the cpu cooler, but it sticks out beyond it. It is labelled Gen4 M2. The harddrive is a 2.5" (laptop size) drive and can be found inside the black box at the bottom.
