Good Scooter from Bird with drawbacks
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. So yet another scooter from the company Bird has arisen. This is my first electric scooter but have now decided to return it to BestBuy. I'll explain why but let's talk about the features about it. Top speed is 16 MPH but did notice every now and then it would go 17.1 MPH which isn't bad if you get it for $399 like I did when it went on sale. It has a nice sleek design with a easy setup of installation which is nice to see all you need is 4 screws to put the handle bar into place with a cable and you're off. It also folds pretty easily which is another benefit. Now lets talk about why I returned it. The main reason as to why was the power/range of this scooter in reality. For one, at best times maybe around half of its rated EPA. That's atrocious for the actual MSRP of $599. Also another drawback is the acceleration/power of it. I looked at the sticker and it has a 250 Watt motor powering the rear wheel. It's not the worst but it can be better for the money. The Unagi Model One E350 has 100 watts more power than this. And also the Unagi is also lighter and has a nicer design than this and is faster with more range. That's all the main drawbacks to why I returned it. The one now I've ordered is the Unagi Model One E350 Ultralight. As of writing this review on the Presidents Day sale it's $489.99 (37% off). Go for it if you see this review!

So far so good.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. What an awesome scooter! Not app dependent is what made me buy two Bird Air scooter. Major complaint on the other brand that requires app and bluetooth connection is that when the phone disconnects from the scooter it stops working even when you’re driving and leave them stranded. As any other battery operated vehicle or devices, i hope the battery on this thing would last.

Review for Large/Heavy users 300lbs+
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.**Review for large/heavy people 300lbs+** Alright! I know many of you have the same question and I will answer it. Can it hold heavy people? Yes, yes it can!! How good does it work? Insanely good!! I’m 314 lbs and I have been using this for about a week. Does not bend when I step on it, runs smooth, runs fast and battery is amazing. Been cruising for about an hour daily and battery goes 100% to 60% on the fastest level. As expected, it slows down when you go uphill but that’s pretty much it. Runs fast, breaks fast and holds my weight. I 100% recommend this if you are a heavy person. My daughter has the Segway Kickscooter E2 and that one bends as soon as I step on it. Great scooter but not for heavy users. This BIRD is the type of scooter I was looking for. You will not be disappointed!

Fun and fast scooter
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. For clarity, I bought this scooter as a leisure device, not for commuting. My first and biggest impression of the scooter is its build quality, as the unit is made entirely from aluminum. Beyond the build, the scooter is fast enough for me to reach its top speed while being on the heavier end of the scale. Battery life is satisfactory, and riding and breaking are quite smooth. My only complaints are the lack of accessories or parts available for this unit and limited app support (Just allows you to change speed levels, control the headlight, view the odometer and battery life). Would have been nice to have the ability to lock the scooter's motor. Beyond this, it is one solid scooter.

Few weeks riding the scooter
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Bought it on the deal of the day saving $200. So it was a good deal. Scooter built very well ride is bumpy because of solid tires. Display is nice but wish it showed the percentage of power left instead of power bars. I tested the speed and distance by full throttle and on the fastest setting. The result was 17 mph was the fastest I got, distance wise I got 7 miles. To get the maximum 15 mile distance, you need to put the speed on the lowest setting, weigh very light, avoid hills and coast down hill. Max weight on scooter is 220lbs and I meet that max weight. I use it for my commute daily and put about 45 miles on it having it for 3 weeks now. Still going strong. Its not a bad scooter but distance on these scooter need improvement. I've asked alot of scooter riders on how much distance they get and most only get half the distance what the manufacturer stated. In conclusion, it's a solid scooter, built well, average battery life, didn't give me any problems yet and fun to ride.

Great for short distances, about it.
||Posted .The Bird Air is yet another model coming from Bird, that one company who's rentals you've probably seen everywhere. They've also sold personal scooters for years now too. I've used their previous scooters, and went with this one next, but honestly I'm pretty disappointed with this one. My main problem is the battery. On medium battery mode(about 13mph) I'm only getting a measly 6 mile range, far below the advertised range. I weight 200lbs, so I was aware I wasn't going to get the full range, but 6 miles is about 30 minutes of riding on this. A round trip 10 minutes total to/from my college campus drains 45% of the battery. What's more disappointing is you can't swap batteries or use external battery packs like with older models. Charging takes around 2.5 hours too, so "quick charging" while you're grocery shopping won't help much. Beyond the battery, the rest of the scooter is pretty good. The design feels great to ride on, and it's pretty light. Very easy to carry up stairs. The HUD displays the speed, battery, and battery mode, and looks neat. The folding system has a few more steps then other scooters, but is easy once you get used to it. One thing I greatly miss from my previous scooter is the digital lock. This has nothing, which sucks big. Overall, even at the sale price I got it at, I'm probably going to return it. Even if you don't need more distance then a few miles, there are scooters that cost less then this that maintain similar specs.

||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This was my first scooter (that i own, my gf had one that i used), and this one is nothing special, speed is good and range is "meh" at best, on the fastest setting it'll get you around 8 to 6 miles, i never used it on the slower setting.

Loves loves
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Great fun here. Pretty fast too. Some top out speeds but I was doing 35 mph today. Made it up several surprisingly tall hills with no problem. Easy to Operate. Sleek. Super portable to throw in car/truck and take all over. Good for vacation. Good battery. No complaints at all. Buying a 2nd so we ride on vacations. I bought this one over others because I own the v frame bird bike.
