This is a good dvd on the canon speedlites. It is informative and you are able to SEE them in use, something the owners manual cannot deliver. It covers all the bases.

these are not the newest in the Canon lineup of speedlites but they are solid performers. I use the 580 ex2 and find that it meets or exceeds all my requirments

Had I bought a flash unit maybe it would have been helpful
