Q: Do you have to have a phone with boost mobile to have this hotspot?
A: No, its pay as you need it. I use it to connect to my Verizon phone and tablet because the data is cheaper. $50 gets you 10 gigs. $25 gets you 2. At the end of the month unused data is lost.
Q: What do i need to purchase in order to connect to the internet through this mobile hotspot?
A: You need to buy a boost mobile data card or scratch card (internet data package) to get internet. I bought the 20GB data card for $50.
Q: Do i have to have internet for it to work?
A: You do not have to have Internet but you do have to purchase data for the device.
Q: Can I use this device for online gaming??
A: You could but the amount of data you would need would be huge. You can get 10 gigs of data for $50 but that will only last you a few hours depending on your refresh rate. as an example we can watch 3 hrs of TV on Sling and use over 6 gigs.
Q: Is this unlimited hotspot to where I can play online and play movies on a tablet for hours a day?
A: No way This is for small data One day playing will cost u $50 But yes, u can, if u rich lol
Q: Are there any options to get unlimited data..
A: Yes there is, if you are a Boost mobile/Sprint customer. Currently has the option of 40gb hotspot and unlimited data, meaning once you go over 35gb you still have data but will be reduced. Cost is about 80 bucks right now.
Q: Im starting college soon. Would this be a good device for my laptop? Im taking classes online
A: Honestly, this device is more for random purposes such as vacations and such. It would probably be cheaper to get a more permanent Internet service if you plan on using it on a daily basis. This is only because there is no unlimited data plan for this device and the most data you can purchase is 10 GBs and don’t think they roll over to the next month if you don’t use them all, you would just have to purchase another 10 GBs, which is going to run you about $50. Or you could always hang out at places that offer free wi-if like Starbucks or Barnes and Noble.
A: It just stops working. Once the 10G are gone its gone. You need to add more money to your account and restart the plan with a new start date. I spent $150 on 3 different 10G time cards in a week time period so if you are someone who likes to download movies oe listen to music be prepared to spend alot of money and get very little gigs.
