These took a beating
Posted .I have owned these headphones for about 2 years now so that should give me some good experience for a review. I'm an avid biker and go the the gym often. Immediately after purchasing these I lost the storage case for them so they have been tossed around frequently. Rarely a day goes by that I don't use them. The pros would have to be the sound quality by far. If you compare them to the traditional sets that come with players there is no comparison. The bass tickles your ear until you get used to it. The fit for me is perfect. I usuall have to get snagged on something for them to come out. I use them on the bike and the wind noise is almost nothing compared to other models I have tried. My dad buys cheap pairs and I let him try them on and then turn a song on and he immediately could tell a sound difference for the good. I told him you get what you pay for. The cons would have to be consistant with what most others are saying. The initial problem I had was at the base of the plug it began to wear and expose the wires. I used some electrical tape and that has seemed to keep that problem at bay for quite some time now. Also, there should be some adhesive that comes with these. The ear bud inserts seem to pop off with little effort. The fact that they're transulecent makes them VERY difficult to find. Considering they only come with a single set of each size scares me about losing one. My advice is that they are worth it for the sound quality but wear the cable inside your shirt if you're in an area that you could easily snag them on something. For me it was always the handles of drawers around the kitchen. It never fails. 2 yrs is pretty good so far though for the sound quality I get.

Great Earphones for the Money
Posted .If you are looking to replace you cruddy stock earbuds, either from apple or any other mp3 player, these are a HUGE step up. Now first off is the comfort, because everyone loves to listen for hours on end without their ears hurting. These are the best earphones for this. Bose offers 3 sizes of eartips that (I'm convinced) will fit anyone's ear. They are soft, retain a pretty tight fit(not too tight) and allow you to listen any time. Next, the sound is very hearty. They are not too loud, yet not too low sounding. The bass is deep (sometimes almost too deep) but is not ear shattering. The sound is excellent on these earbuds, but I am not saying they are the best around. For $99, I think they are great quality. I assure you, that anyone with an ear will never go back to stock headphones after using these buds for a week. They looks cool also, with silver accents. I have been using these buds for roughly 2 years, and they have been the reason why I love music. You miss a lot of aspects when using low-quality buds. OK, here are the cons. Do not block out enough noise to be called "noise isolating" like other high priced buds, but they seal your ear pretty good. They cannot compete with some other buds that go into your ear canal like earplugs, but the crisp deep bass helps block out most noise, I am just saying other buds that go deep into the ear fair better with outside noise. Another con with these buds is the steep price. For most listeners this is a steep price for $99, but trust me if you listen to your mp3 player or computer a lot these are a great buy and will hopefully last you a while like they did for me. All in all, these are some of the best earbuds you can buy. Not the best, but at a reachable price they are great for new listeners.

Lots of use- Works well for me
Posted .I bought these about a year ago and overall I'm pleased. I had been running for years with cheap headphones/ headsets that were all highs and were vastly uncomfortable... I eventually broke and spent the money on bose. What a difference! Instead of cramming plastic pieces in my ear there is a soft silicone bud that makes a very decent seal. I experimented with the three different sizes and settled on the large, even though I consider myself to be a small guy. Larger than life folk may not like the buds based on this assumption. Now I bought these when they were fairly new on the market and on a run I tripped and fell resulting in one of the silicone pieces to fall off forever lost. I was pretty discouraged that my $100 ear buds where near ruined until I emailed bose. Two days later they sent me three pairs of silicone replacement buds plus a strap device that lays on the back of your neck to keep the buds more stable. From what I've gathered the new kits come with this "neck strap". Any who use the case! After over a year of use the wire on the right bud is starting to fray... This time I'll have to buy a new pair! Oh did I mention while running these phones don't make an outrageous seal- which I like, so I can hear cars coming and going on my runs. Would recommend to anyone needing great sound on the go!

Very nice
Posted .I used to have a pair of these headphones before i got the Bose Triport Around Ear Headphones, also a very nice product from bose. The first thing you will notice about these earbuds over any other headphones or earbuds is the bass responce, the bass is very powerful on these headphones. The sound quality and outstanding, the best on the market in my opinion. The Highs and Lows are very clear and crisp. The fit is very comfortable, plus they come with 3 sets of soft silicon tips for every size and shape of ear. Right now, Bose is shipping out spare silicon tips for free to anyone who owns these and may have lost they're tips. The only thing i didnt like about these, and this is what killed mine, is the delicate cord. Although this can be fixed by being gentle on the cord. This seems to be a problem with all the bose headphones that i have seen, very thin cords. To any Bose employee that may read this, a tip is... make the cords tougher, the cords rip to easily! the cord on my pair of Triport Earbuds ripped, exposing the copper wire, then eventualy that killed the speakers. My new over the ear headphones also have a very thin delicate cord, but now that i know, i am being very careful about it. Overall, i would highly recoment these and any other bose product to anyone who enjoys sound.

Great quality, but a small convenience problems
Posted .These headphones are of excellent quality; the best in-ear headphones on the market that I've found. Whether you're watching movies on a computer or listening to music on an iPod, all the level of the audio are perfectly balanced. This is especially noticeable when listening to music; all the instruments are easy to hear, from the bass guitar to the drums. But they don't overpower the main instrument ever, or the vocal track. They're brought to their perfect sound level. Second, the ear buds look uncomfortable, but they are the exact opposite. They come in 3 sizes, so they'll work for anyone. They also have a very nice feeling to them, where you barely even notice them once they're in. Third, the cord is the perfect length. Not a stretch to reach with, but not so long you have to roll it up. Now the cons. The ear buds, while very comfortable, are easily detached. Since they are so easily interchangeable between sizes, the buds often come off. Sometimes just having them in my pocket makes the buds come off, and if I leave it on my bedside table they seem to disappear. Also, while this may sound strange, the cord is almost sticky. Not really sticky, but it offers a lot of friction, which can make it an ordeal just to put and iPod in your pocket. Overall, I would give these a 4.5, and recommend them to anyone who's looking for headphones. But if Bose comes out with a new model, these problems could be fixed, maybe by offering 3 different models with fixed buds, or by making the attachment of the buds a more firm process.

Stylish Little Earbuds
Posted .As far as earbuds go, these are fantastic! To get this much bass out of such a small speaker is amazing. Then again, this IS BOSE I'm talking about so I guess being surprised is just something I need to start getting used to when it comes to them lol! Anyway, I think BOSE has been updating these over time because my friends and I all seem to have slightly different versions between the three of us! Having just bought mine, I can only guess that I have the most up-to-date set. The earbuds came in a sweet little zippered case that I can also fit my iPod in, and included some kinda of tether that wraps around your neck (I guess for exercising) and keeps the earbuds from getting pulled out easily. My eartips also seem to more SNAP in place than just snap on like theirs do too. The only thing that got in my way initially was the lack of volume. A friend told me to make sure 'sound-check' was turned OFF on my iPod and that did make a pretty big difference, but these still seem to be a bit quieter than other earbuds. Still, with almost no distortion in sound (even when fully cranked), this is only a minor inconvenience, and I don't need to turn them up all the way often anyway.

Bose® In-Ear Headphones
Posted .After finally buying my 1st IPod, I knew I had to get some other headphones as the ones that come standard with the player would make my ears hurt after a short amount of time from their shape within the ear. After checking out numerous types of headphones, I decided to buy my 1st Bose product and am happy that I did. After trying out the 3 different sizes of rubber ear tips that are provided, I noticed an immediate sense of comfort with the size that I chose while they were in the ear, and, the sound was very, very good. I would agree with most people that the bass, or low tones, are excellent, and that the higher notes may not sound high enough, but, overall, I think the sound quality is "above average" and a drastic improvement over the stock headphones. The zippered carrying case is also a nice addition. My only con would be the price as normally, I don't think I would have thought about paying for headphones on a "higher pricepoint", but, feel that the quality may lend itself to being in that category. I would definitely recommend the headphones to anyone who wants to hear their music in a whole different light!

Very Nice
Posted .These earphones have lived up to my expectations. I had assumed that if Bose only makes one in-ear earphone, they are satisfied with it's performance. So far, I'm very happy with the improvement of the sound from the ear buds that came with my iPod. I haven't tried anything more expensive than these. Perhaps better sound is available for a much higher price. But I suspect that the iPod is already the weak-link in the system, and that there will be diminishing returns on more expensive headphones. Not having to plug my ear canal to get good sound is a plus for me. I'm not using them where I need ambient noise attenuation, and I don't like the feel of having my ears plugged. I find that feeling tiresome, and actually detracts from my enjoyment of the music. Having my ears plugged is definitely an unnatural feeling, which would not be there in a live performance. About the only think I don't like about these, is the black/white striped wires. Those don't look very nice. It makes it look like they were lashed up using hookup wire bought from Radio Shack.
