    My new Brother MFC-L3780CDW

I recently purchased the Brother MFC-L3780CDW, and overall, it’s been an impressive addition to my workspace. Here’s a breakdown of my experience with it so far: Setup and Connectivity Setting up the printer was straightforward. Connecting it to my Wi-Fi network was smooth, and the printer was easily detected by multiple devices, including my laptop, smartphone, and tablet. The wireless functionality means I can print from anywhere, which adds a lot of convenience. Print Quality The print quality is excellent. Text documents come out crisp and clear, and the colors in graphics and images are vibrant. The laser-quality output makes a noticeable difference, especially for professional-looking documents. For an all-in-one, the quality of color prints exceeded my expectations. Speed and Efficiency This printer is fast, especially for larger print jobs. It handles both single-sided and duplex printing efficiently, and I haven’t noticed any jams or slowdowns. The all-in-one functions—copying, scanning, and faxing—are also quick and efficient, with the scanner producing sharp digital images. User Interface and Touchscreen The touchscreen is responsive and intuitive to use. Navigating through the menus to access different functions is simple, which makes it user-friendly. Even without the manual, most functions are straightforward to figure out. Cost and Maintenance While toner cartridges are a bit pricey, they last a long time and deliver consistent quality. Considering the overall performance, I think the maintenance costs are fair. The fact that it’s a laser printer also means fewer issues with clogging compared to inkjets, which is a big plus. Noise Level One pleasant surprise is that it’s relatively quiet. There’s a hum while it prints, but it’s minimal—perfect for a shared workspace where noise can be distracting. Pros and Cons Pros: High-quality, laser-like print output Fast printing and reliable wireless connectivity Responsive and easy-to-use touchscreen interface Quiet operation Cons: Replacement toner can be costly Slightly bulkier than some other all-in-ones Conclusion The Brother MFC-L3780CDW is a great choice for anyone needing a high-quality, efficient, and reliable all-in-one printer. It handles everything from basic document printing to scanning and copying with ease, making it ideal for a home office or small business. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for professional-quality printing and convenience.

Printing is great, Scan/Copy is a miss.

Short version of my review, if you need a printer that can print stuff fast and clear, with easy to use interface and a solid wireless connection, Brother excels in that. But this printer is an All-In-One, and you are getting this for the scanning/copying capabilities as well, where Brother, or at least this AIO printer, sucks at. The scan/copy colors are way off and no amount of adjusting density/contrast makes it close. See my included photos for samples, left-most paper is the source. Hence, I am returning it....twice. Now onto the long story. My Canon Color Laser Printer started printing erratically after almost 5 years. That printer was a replacement for the same Canon printer that lasted us for about 3 years before acting up with printing. Since I got two Canon printers that had the same issue, maybe it's time to switch brands. Brother has a lot of really good reviews online so I decided to get this model. Setup was pretty easy. Only a few tapes to get off, removing plastic guards on the toner and you're all set. One thing that really amazed me is how solid the wireless connection is on this AIO. It was able to easily connect to 5GHz and it makes printing huge documents a breeze. It didn't cut out from the connection unlike our Canon which is wishy washy with the wireless connection. Firmware update is also very easy to do, just a few button presses. Printing itself was fast and perfect. Colors were accurate and it prints straight on the paper. Now onto our big issue with this one. The colors are way off when scanning or copying. I reached out to Brother directly and while they were helpful, they were never able to fix the issue and recommended we return it to the store for a replacement. Now I don't know about you but even though this AIO is compact, it's still annoying to pack it back in the box again after I've set it up on my home office. Went back to Best Buy and thankfully, it was an easy replacement. I felt hopeful for the new one but it exhibited the same exact issue as the first one. I just wanted to put this review out before I pack it back in the box again and return it. Maybe I'll have to deal with Canon's unstable wireless connection so I can have a good AIO printer again.

    Finally, an Apple friendly MFP

Speaking only as an Apple Mac/iPhone/iPad user: After years of headaches with Canon and their less than ideal machines--won't stay connected wirelessly, AirPlay not showing up, constant software updates that don't fix the issues--I read good things about Brother machines and gave it a try. Excellent machine--always connected, AirPlay there when you need it. A winner. Only knock, the photo printing is just decent, nothing you would want to frame and hang on the wall. But for me, that's not what I ask of the machine so I'm ok with it.
