Buffalo does it again!
||Posted .I recently purchased a Buffalo external hard drive to backup my PC and was very happy with it, so I decided to opt for this Buffalo router. We decided to upgrade our FIOS Internet speed to 50/25 Mbps when we renewed our contract, but were not informed by Verizon until afterward that our original Verizon-provided router would not wirelessly support those speeds. When told we would need to pay $80 to purchase a router upgrade from them to achieve better than 20/20 Mbps speed, I refused to pay them more money. Not being tech savvy, I hesitated to attempt an upgrade on my own until I found the detailed step-by-step instructions to do so at http://www.dslreports.com/faq/12506. Comparison shopping led me to this Buffalo product (which was cheaper than what Verizon wanted) and armed with the straight-forward instructions, I took the plunge. I hooked up the Buffalo unit as a 'secondary' router to support my wireless needs with the original Verizon router remaining as my 'primary' router (for TV and hard-wired PC connections). The new configuration works flawlessly and I now get the Internet speed I'm paying for and also discovered that the signal strength provided by the Buffalo unit is stronger than my original signal strength with the Verizon-only configuration and have not lost a single connection in the past few months since upgrading (I did drop connections occassionaly with the Verizon-only router). I'm very happy with the looks of the Buffalo unit as well as its performance. It comes with upgradeable software (for the adventurous) which I use in its delivered default configuration and do not plan to ever try changing it. Thanks Buffalo guys - you did it again for me!

Good performance at reasonable price
||Posted .Range is better than the old NetGear N-class router it replaced; I get a signal outside my small house and in the garage. Speed is consistently high. The only knocks are the flimsy base/stand which doesn't want to lock into place and stay put, and that the router wireless signal will occasionally drop out so that I have to reboot the router. This happens about once a week.

Best router bar none
||Posted .Long time Apple user. This router is better than AirPort Extreme, Belkin, Cisco, etc bar none. Solved all connectivity problems in farthest reaches of home. Integrated easily with all devices in house.

Great wireless router
||Posted .I have multiple wireless devices running off the same router. The previous router would drop my internet connection whenever I had more than 1 device streaming movies and my computer internet connection ran slowly in the rear of the house. This router corrected the problem and no extender was required. Should have switched router weeks ago.

Great Router
||Posted .Buffalo has a winner with this router. I had it setup identical to my previous router that was slower and have been impressed with it ever since. The setup was easy since I had a previous open firmware (DD-WRT) Linksys devise. There is nothing, so far that would stop me from getting another for the other part of my house to increase the range of my wireless network.

Not the easiest router to set up
||Posted .Pictures in directions are too small to see and some are confusing. The stand that is used to stand-up the router does not snap or screw into anything on the bottom of the router; making the router wobbly. I e-mailed Buffalo and asked some basic questions, received a confirmation that they had received the e-mail and would get back to me with answers. After 2 weeks I sent them an e-mail reminding them that I still had not received any answers and restated my questions again. Well, that was over a month ago and I still have not heard from Buffalo. What is wrong with these people? My old router is Netgear RangeMax Wireless N, easy to set up and instructions were prime; I may well return the Buffalo and stay with the Netgear.

Its Buffalo
||Posted .I use this for Gaming and my kids do the same, I have meetings from my business via video stream and it has not failed. Security is tight and you can add more security if you add a guest connection. In the FAQ forums you can make it so that know one could by pass via guest.
