Synopsis

The art of war may be thousands of years old, but on the battlegrounds of the future combat has become a big business. Where men and women once stood in defense of their nation the employees of Private Military Corporations (PMCs) are deployed, armed with the latest technologies and an arsenal of advanced weapons. Soldiers no longer need to specialize in any area of combat — equipped with powerful exoskeletons, they become the masters of all battlefield skills. In this new age of privatized combat, one PMC stands at the forefront of the industry, the juggernaut Atlas Corporation. Founded and led by Jonathan Irons, perhaps the most powerful man in the world, Atlas Corporation represents the evolution of modern combat. Under the oversight of Irons and men like him, the rules of warfare have been completely rewritten, and national borders change with the demands of the highest bidders. Do you have what it takes to navigate this ever-changing military landscape and answer the Call of Duty?

The latest installment in the popular combat series, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare plunges you into the combat of the future, orchestrated and fought by PMCs with the latest technology in armor, weaponry and tactics. Enter the world of Jonathan Irons — the founder and president of the world's most dominant PMC, Atlas Corporation — in a powerful performance by Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey. Step onto the battlefield in a powerful exoskeleton that provides a massive force multiplier, delivers strategic freedom and enhances even the most adept soldier's abilities with optimized movement, jumping and grappling, covert cloaking abilities and biomechanics that take your strength, awareness, endurance and speed to the next level. Destroy opposing forces with an advanced arsenal that allows you to dominate the battlefield and all-new equipment, abilities and perks that put you at the forefront of combat technology. Conduct missions with hoverbikes, highly specialized drones and other new vehicles that enhance your mobility. Attack enemy forces with tried-and-true standard ammunition or step up your assault with new directed-energy weapons. The future of war is upon you — are you ready to play your part?

Ok, lets be honest. I'm 27 years old, im SO tired of playing these kind of games online with 12 and 13 year old's. But lets get to the real review here.... Is it different? you bet it is...Do i like it, yes and no. When the game first came out it was great because not everyone was familiar with the halo style jumping which made it real easy for me to get kills ;) However, after a week (or less) after people got used to the jump packs, it became almost too annoying. So what did i do? i switched my online gaming to the "old-school" way. No boost jumping, just the plain old COD. Boy what a difference. Not only in game play but how you view each map. With the jumping, all you were concerned about were roof tops, you know...finding a place to land or jump onto. When switching from the "new-style" to the old, i found it to be a lot cooler. By that i mean, the maps seemed WAY bigger because there was no more just jumping like idiots all over the place and it was really like another map, finding places and spots you were unaware of because with the "new-style" there was just jumping really.... The guns...well, they are OK...really just OK.... Character customization is great, i love the fact that you can make your own emblem again, i hate that you couldn't with Ghost (yes i know, different publishers - but still). The "hordes" as i call them or the continuous waves of enemies is pretty challenging, especially if you're with complete idiots....get a good team and it will be fun AND challenging... Overall 3 stars, why? like i said with the game play, too much jumping around, too many "tweens" playing the game, its just blahh really....gets super annoying super fast - my suggestion is to play the "classic" mode online... Single player is fun, i always liked single player, usually finished that first before multiplayer but that's just me recommend it? ( i said yes) - depends who you are i guess...if youre online and have a good server with minimal lag and people who can play and not complaing 24/7 or hear them yelling to their parents then its cool, other than that COD has seemed to slip away from a "mature" audience to tweens using mommy and daddy's money...too bad

The single player is fun, nice story line, and leaves you wanting to continue playing. Nice mix of graphics, levels, and weapons. Multiple player: I found myself leveling up quickly to about 30 then matched with more skilled players. I actually grew frustrated with what seemed to be lag times and where the game didn't match up with everyone's system. Under multiple play I found where you can play bots and turned the skill all they way up. This is more entertaining to me then online and find it a very nice feature. Almost all I play now is local play against bots. The classes are starting to grow out of hand now... there are way to many options. I like a quick pickup and play game but over all I'm really excited with the release of CoD, much improved over their last release.

While I enjoy video games, I admittedly play less these days. (Likely less than 10 hours, per month) That said, FPS are pretty much the only games I play and the Call of Duty franchise will likely continue to be my favorite series. While this game has good graphics and game play, the initial maps are smaller than some of the previous games in the series. Also, I can't really decide whether or not I like the similarity between the Exo skeletons of Adv. Warfare and the soldiers of TitanFall. (I'm glad the developers included an optional online mode that can be played without Exo features) In all, it's worth the investment of time/$... Especially since it's cheaper than therapy! LOL

This game is lots of fun to play. People of all ages will enjoy the game because it involves lots of excitement and strategy. The violence is of no consequence because studies have shown that it does not affect kids as much as their actual environment. Though I would still caution against allowing kids to play too much or else they will become addicted and forget to do their studies. Academics always comes first. That is unless they want to become a pro gamer. That is a viable way of life if they are willing to devote their whole lives to it in order to provide the support for themselves and their families. Overall, I believe this game is just a good time for everybody.

At first I was tempted not to buy this game but after many many trailers decided to give it a shot. Glad I took the chance. After Modern Warfare 2 I really thought the franchise was going into the wrong direction but with this it has changed my thoughts completely. The new design of movement and how you play the game will keep you going for hours on end. This has been the first game in a few months too make me replace my brand new batteries in one sitting. Definitely worth the money and to be able to upgrade to Xbox one for free is another added perk! Don't be hesitant about buying this game.

While the main storyline was fun, challenging and able to be played through a couple of times parts of the plot seemed to be recycled at this point in the series. Mechanics and graphics are both excellent with familiar controls to prior games, even with the addition of new equipment and movement abilities. Multiplayer is similar to past titles, and while it plays similar the ability to move vertically dramatically changes how the game can be played. Still seems to be problems with matching, putting newer players in games where they are outmatched by those with more equipment and time in the game.

There was a time when it was almost impossible to pull me away from a Call of Duty game. I'm talking Call of Duty 2, cod 4, modern warfare 2 and even black ops. I skipped Ghosts because it just looked horrible. I should have skipped this one too. The new exo suits make this game feel like one thing.....a ripoff of Halo. And I hate Halo. Everybody jumping around the map like a bunch of idiots. Give me Call of Duty 4 Remastered on the PS4 and I'll be all over it. What made the old CoD games great was the simplicity.
