Chefman Capacative Touch Digital Espresso Machine
Q: What size is the portafilter?
A: The websites I see show this as a 51mm portafilter. I've flipped through every page in this user guide and couldn't get a definitive answer. Very sloppy on Chefman's part.
A: large capacity water tank is plastic. Milk pitcher is stainless steel Basket for grinds is stainless steel. I have not smelled a burning plastic smell, like my last two machines. I picked this out because the inside (part I can't see, ) is metal, not plastic. But I trust that; I can't prove it.
A: Had the same problem. There's an O ring that goes on the frother that fell off. Looking for a replacement one... would contact customer service.
A: You are able to control the frother by itself. Actually, the espresso brews first then, you'd have to press the button to activate the frother. Only put how much milk you'd like in the frother reservoir and you should be good.
A: It’s important to grind your own coffee beans. Not real fine but not medium either. We’ve been grinding our beans in between fine and medium and the grinds are always wet when we empty. The only thing we’ve found with this machine is that it’s not consistently making the same size cup of double latte. That’s the only thing we use is the latte which is delicious but just sometimes it’s half the finished product. To your question we never have a problem. It’s in the instructions about grinding the beans.
A: We fill the milk tank according to what we plan to use that day, refrigerating excess until later use. It's easy to visually see how much milk is used for your typical beverages. We make two double lattes with partial refills each morning, using up the little remaining milk by extra frothing. We have never had issues with clogging. We clean completely after every use. We love our Chefman machine.
