Q: How long do you use it st a time ?
A: I use it for about 30 minutes at a time. I don't use it every day just when it is convenient to use it. I thought I would use it more but I do not as using it while I am on my computer is distracting me.
Q: How does it work on a person with diabetes that have pain in legs and restricted blood flow?
A: That's exactly why I bought it. It works great. I can sit on the sofa well supported and don't feel like I am going to fall. It has different settings. So far I've only used the first two. Almost feels effortless. Gets heart pumping and you can do it slowly or quickly. Very user friendly. I have neurothrapy pain, and this helps by getting movement and circulation improvement. It's heavy, but not too heavy. The handle helps me move it into place. I put it on a bath rug to also help move it and protect the floor. I'm happy I bought it.
Q: What is involved in setting it up?
A: You have to attach the pedals. It even comes with a screwdriver! Takes about 5 minutes. Easy
Q: Is it hard on your knees like an elliptical?
A: Unlike on elliptical machines, on a rowing machine you work out in a seated position so your knees will not have to support your body weight. As a result, your knees should feel considerably less stress when exercising. However proper rowing technique requires the ability to fully bend and extend your legs when starting a rowing motion.
