Great product.
Bought this grip for extended shooting and the second release. It has not failed me, yet. Love the second shutter release. I am using it with my Nikon D5100 and it fits perfectly. We played with the remote control a bit, but haven't tried shooting anything with it yet.

Overall Happy With This Grip & Included IR Remote
I have a Nikon D5200. I chose this battery grip because it is compatible with both the D3100 and D5100 and they use the same battery as the D5200. I am not sure it is functioning properly with my camera. It seems to use the batteries separately rather than combining them for extended battery life. This means I have to remove 1 battery in order for it to begin using the second battery. I don't know if this is because it is not specifically for the D5200 or if this is how it is supposed to work. It wouldn't make much sense because I can change out to an extra battery without using a grip. I haven't called the DigiPower 1-800 number yet to see if they can figure out the problem. As far as the grip itself goes, it makes the camera easier to handle for portrait and upside down landscape photos. This comes in handy for my rock climbing photos. I love the fact that it comes with an IR remote so I don't have to buy a remote from Nikon. Overall I am happy with the grip for now and if nothing else I have a place to store my extra battery.

Alright
First I have another battery grip for the D3100 and this one feels more plasticy. Plus its not working with my batteries I have to use one at a time.
