A: Yes, it can be and we do that. After vacuuming, the amount of dirt that is picked up (a lot) shows that it works well.
A: I got my wife the v10 absolute and i don't think the time is a whole lot more. she said it lasts about 30 to 40 mins on max power. We have an upright for upstairs and a roomba does downstairs we just got v10 for the stairs. Hope this helps

The newer machines all feature the quick-release attachments. Any non-motorized V7, V8 or V10 attachments would be interchangeable.
