Deebot r95
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good little vacuum, i love not having to sweep my hardwood floors daily due to pet hair etc. I only gave it a 3 star due to the app; that is the only way you can utilize the extra feature such as mapping and scheduling. It took nearly 5 hrs of trouble shooting to get dbot to connect to app, after 1 day it showed offline and have not been able to get it connected since. To top that i saw most users have the same problem with very little tech support. Making a long story short you can still use it manually but the extra features were 75% of my reason for purchasing this particular vacuum, so it was very disappointing. I really hope the programmers are willing to correct the app issues.

||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If this is any indication of how robots work I am not too concerned of an uprising any soon. Constantly gets stuck on random things, always loses maps. Bad purchase.

Excellent robot for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ok, first of all to address the bad reviews solely because of WiFi issues this & every other robot I’ve researched connect originally at 2.4ghz. If you have a router that is a 5ghz, it will also have 2.4 ghz available you might just have to enable it. I have 2 & haven’t had a single issue connecting to WiFi. I absolutely love this robot. It’s relatively quiet, especially compared to the ‘big name’ bot which I also tried for a couple of weeks but returned the big name because it was just way too loud. You couldn’t carry on a conversation when that bot was on even on low power but the sound of the R95 is quite reasonable. The R95 picks up a surprising amount of dust & pet hair & with a golden retriever that gets to be a lot. It might not pick up quite as much as that ‘other’ bot but the trade off is sanity. It maps out your entire floor plan & you can actually see what it’s done & hasn’t done in real time as opposed to the ‘other’ bot that just shows you how much it covered when it’s done. It does get stuck on things more, things like soft dog toys or a curtain touching the floor but overall I still like this more than that ‘other’ bot. There is 1 negative & it’s why I took away a star. I had a lesser model & this model both die in a few months. Ecovacs support was great & they supposedly promptly issued a return (which I had to request the label twice) but didn’t send out the replacement for 3 weeks even though they said they’d send it as soon as they got confirmation my dead 1 was on its way back to them. The replacement has been humming along in the week or so that I’ve had it so time will tell if it will hold up.

DO NOT BUY!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Here's the deal, this product does NOT connect to the app. Half of the reason I bought it was for all of the app features including using Alexa and seeing the virtual maps of the room. This vacuum will not connect to the "Ecovacs" app on my iPhone. Don't take my word for it though, go to the app right now and see the months and months of straight reviews saying they can't connect. I would have never purchased this had I known this so I consider this my public service to help you out! Also, they don't have a customer service 800 number you can call. The best I've found is an email address but I don't see how they're going to diagnose this issue over email. Also, I should note that I know what I'm doing regarding wifi, my router, using apps, and following instructions. My router is new and among the top of the line. The instructions are pretty straight forward; they just don't work. It should be noted that this thing was just ok as far as performance when we used it in the manual mode. It seemed pretty smart in terms of navigating and running a path through our home but I'm pretty sure all the other robots use the same technology in that department. Finally, it's not just the D95 model. While that is the only one I tested, it sounds like all of their models have trouble connecting to the app. So avoid those Ecovacs/Deebots and let's see what else is out there. I hope this helps.

Posted .Vince - thanks so much for taking the time to share your experiences. As you've pointed out, connectivity is a situation that many of our owners encounter, and we are working to improve that. Once they connect, most owners are thrilled with the R95.
In the meantime, here's a couple of things that may help:
1) Customer Service phone number: 1.844.326.8227 - also sharing our Customer Service Manager's email with you so you two can talk directly to resolve, brian.scully@ecovacs.com
2) All of our robots connect at 2.4 ghz, which is most likely the issue you describe - since your router is new & high end.. here's a link to detailed instructions:  https://ecovacs.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115010350328-Connecting-your-App-to-your-Deebot
Again, thanks for taking the time to share, and allowing our Customer Service team to assist you & get you to the point where you can be happy with your purchase!

Great robot that takes care of the cleaning
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like to keep things clean in my home, but I don’t always have the time (or energy) to vacuum as often as I’d like. So far, the R95 has done a great job cleaning for me while I’m at work. The mapping process is thorough and required a bit of supervision, and you can see it unfold on the app. The R95 was pretty good at figuring out what it had gone over and what it had missed. During the initial cleaning/mapping, it missed a couple of spots, but went back later to go over them. It does a good job of figuring out where table legs are, and avoids stairs as advertised. It also helps that you can define boundaries and wall off certain areas from cleaning. The cleaning process isn’t the fastest, but that’s ok. As long as I’m not actively engaged with it and it gets done, it’s a win for me. It's definitely helpful that I can schedule cleanings via the app while I'm away. It’s worth noting that the R95 isn’t great if you have rugs with tassels on them, but you can easily get around that by just tucking them underneath. Emptying out and cleaning the compartment where all the dust/dirt/pet hair is easy to access and simple. The machine has done a good job picking up pet hair, and so far, it’s done a decent job mopping as well. I haven’t used this feature much yet, but plan on testing it out more. It won’t replace going over my hard wood floors and tile surfaces with a mop myself, but it should help reduce the frequency of my own mopping. Overall, I’m definitely happy with my purchase. The R95 has been simple to use, and it's a time saver that has done a great job keeping things clean.

I FINALLY found THE ONE - Amazing, simple as that!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So this is my fourth robot vacuum in the last few months. FIrst was a Hoover Quest 800 - awful. Went with the Hoover Rogue 970 since it sounded absolutely amazing with the Smartwall tech, etc. Great vacuum, awful software/firmware. Then went to the Neato Botvac Connected - really nice, but wouldn't always find its way back to the base, had a super high profile and got stuck under furniture a lot, and zero smartwall tech. I found the Evocacs Deebot R95 kind of by chance (they have the #1 selling robo vac on Amazon (N79) and there was a link to this one from that page). Ok, not even being dramatic here - this vacuum is PHENOMENAL! It worked exactly as described - honestly even better than described. I have been using it now for a few days and it is literally perfect. Sucks up a tonnof dirt, perfect profile, long battery life, recharges if it runs out of juice, EXTREMELY high tech in that it sets up smartwalls brilliantly (both box barriers and line barriers), allows you to section off parts of the map into seperate rooms so you can tell the vacuum to just clean those, comes with extra filters, an extra awesome "brushless" suction attachment, and a fantastic mop attachment (it works SO WELL). The app for iOS is smart, fast, and intuitive. There is literally nothing I do not like about this vacuum aside from the fact that I'd like to be able to rename it so I can say, "Hey Google, tell Agador Spartacus to clean please" lol. All kidding aside, though, this really works brilliantly. My floors shine, my carpets are clean, and it really is an awesome robot vacuum. You will not be dissapointed here.

Great vacuum even for a big first floor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great vacuum! We have a quite large first floor with a few different types of flooring (carpet, stone tile, hardwood) and it works extremely well on all of them. The vacuum got over our area rugs with no problem (and some of them are pretty thick). It was fairly easy to setup, but I’m big into reading directions so it could be confusing if you don’t read them first. They also included a quick tips guide which mentioned things like picking up cords which seems intuitive but isn’t. It’s a robot not magic so it was good to know at the beginning what the vacuum could and could not do. It feels great to have my floors clean without any effort, and the vacuum is quiet enough to have a conversation or watch TV while it's working around you. I haven’t tried all the tools on the vacuum or app yet but I’m happy with my purchase so far.

30 Day Life Span
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first, the Deebot was incredible. It picked up everything in its path, was quiet, and overall did a great job. It was also easy to clean, and could do my neatly 2000 square feet of wood floors on a charge. But after 35 days, everything changed. It began quitting in the middle of a cycle and making a terrible machine gun type clicking while it ran. A couple days later, the sensors clearly no longer work, as it careens around the house bouncing off everything in its way. I’ve reached out to the manufacturer to hopefully get a replacement, but I’m super disappointed.

Posted .Hello,
I sincerely apologize for the delayed response. In order to better investigate and dig out the cause, could you please provide more details:
1. How long ago did you receive the robot and how often do you use it every week?
2. Did you hear any alarm sound? If so, how many beeps did you hear?
3. Did you see if the light was flashing? If so, what color is it? Is it flashing or glowing continuously?
If you could please provide us with the answers to the questions above Id like to try and diagnose the problem, which I believe to be a main brush malfunction, so that we can get you back up and running again. If you havent already, Please remove the dustbin, clean out the filters, side brushes, and main brushes. If this does not take care of the issue, you are covered by a 1 year warranty. So regardless of the issue, we will be able to exchange the unit if all else fails. Please let us know how you would like to proceed with your transaction. You can reach back out to us at customerservice@ecovacs.com.
All the best.
Q: QuestionDoes the Ecovacs Deebot R95 come with a remote control for setup and such or must I use a cell phone or Alexa as the only control means?
Asked by Carlie.
- A:Answer No, it doesn’t have its own remote. You need to use an app on your phone or tablet device or Alexa (don’t know about Google). The app works great! Shows you what the bot has done & not done in real time as well as it’s current location.
