Great Printer for a Great Value

My husband and I bought this Multifunction Printer/Scanner/Copier aftering discovering that our old printer would not work with Windows Vista. Even though we were reluctant to purchase any printer, we are extremely happy with this item. It prints and copies very quickly. The resolution it is capable of in both copies and scans is amazing for the price point of the unit. The navigation on the printer itself with both the buttons and LCD screen are very easy to use and understand. Installation was also a breeze. It took five minutes from the time we took it out of the box to the time we were up and printing.
The cons are that it is a little noisy compared to our old printer. Also, the tray in the front where the prints comes out seems a little flimsy. We're had trouble sliding it in and out after use. That could be a spot problem with our printer though and not consistent on all units.
We would buy this printer again and recommend it to others.

WORST INK CARTRIDGE EVER

The ink cartridges on this printer are separte, so you do not have to change all colors when one is empty...HOWEVER, the printer will not work at all when any one of the cartidges are empty. I was printing some black and white documents and after 100 warning messages that day that I should buy black ink soon I went out and bought a cartidge just before the store closed. Came home printed about 2 more pages of black and white pages and was notified that the Yellow was empty. Even though the black was full and pristine, nothing will print! You get two options...stop trying to print or buy from epson online and then stop printing until it comes in the mail. Epson Help FAQs suggest that you should keep plenty of cartidges of all colors on hand so you are prepared for when this happens. BOO! The printer is also VERY LOUD. It scares my baby. When it does print, scan, etc. The quality is excellent. You decide if it is worth it. :)

Very Happy With This!

I bought this over 2 months ago. It was very affordable and it's easy to use. I have to scan documents every couple weeks & now I don't have to run to the post office or library every time I need to make copies! I have read other people complain about the ink running low right after they got this. I use it A LOT and mine still have ink! Also, I haven't had any problems with it being loud at all. Of coarse, I'm sure there are better printer/scanners out there, but for the price of this one, and the uses I need it for, I'm very happy with it.

Great Printer for the home user

I bought this printer since it was on sale and cheaper than buying the 6 ink cartridges my older printer needed. Not only did I get a better quality printer, I also got a scanner and copier. Some reviews say it's loud, well for me it is quieter than my previous Epson, and it also prints out a lot faster. Even though my other Epson used 6 cartridges the quality of the printed items comes out better on this printer using only 4. The other two cartridges were light cyan and light magenta. I also see that in a lot of the reviews people say it won't print if one cartridge is empty, well that's the way it is on a lot of printers, at work our $7000 printer does the same thing.
One nice thing I like about this printer is that the standard ink cartridges (69 series) are cheaper and they also have an alternative moderate use cartridge (88 series) and for black have a high capacity cartridge (68). So if you don't do a lot of printing, you can buy cartridges with less ink in them for a few dollars less and avoid the risk of them drying out.

Good Printer for the Price!

Nice printer, easy to share printer over network, the software cd actually works! (I have had other printers/devices where I have had to get their software from their webpages due to the cd not working) Good picture quality and good printing speeds for the price! Options to minimize the sound in printer settings (basically prints everything slower). Good buy!

Awesome Printer!!

I was looking for a printer since I started college, and didn't want to spend a fortune. I originally was looking at a Canon but when I got to the store and saw this one, I saw it has an LCD screen for PC-free printing and slots for memory cards for only $20 more so I grabbed it. I'm very pleased with it, it prints great (and quietly after the initial paper grab) and the photos look like lab-quality prints!! I also like that their are 4 ink cartridges (black, magenta, yellow and blue) so if you run out of a certain color you can replace only that color and not the whole cartridge!! Makes sense!! The cartridges are cheap too!! Great printer, I'd definitely buy it again!!

Loudest Printer EVER

I got this printer on sale Memorial Day. The price was about what it would cost to put ink into the thing which I wont do. Its just as expensive to by a newer better printer than refill the ink in this one.
The picture/print quality is good. You can't print pictures on the printer though as it is very grainy.
The printer is very very loud and very slow at printing. You have time to wait for something to print out than you are okay but there is no option for fast printing.
Would not recommend.

Prints nice photos, but makes computer crash!

Worked great for about 2 weeks, then suddenly I cannot turn off computer, printer, or disconnect printer without computer crashing. Happens every time now. Could be a Vista SP1 issue, but Epson product support has not been helpful. Online support specialists will only refer me to their FAQ webpage, and will not address the issue. Note: printer can be used independent of computer, but only for printing photos, no text documents. Buyer beware!
