Good product for the price.
I bought this in case of bad weather or power outage. It has the ability to work off a built in battery which can be charged by the crank, solar cell, or usb port. You can also use 3 AAA batteries. I also like the option of using the included usb cord to charge a cell phone I gave it 4 starts instead of 5 due to a lack of station presets for am or fm radio. It is also easy to turn the alarm on by accident. I would buy it again.

Better than thought, but not whole package
We've been having a lot of crazy weather in our area lately, so my wife and I purchased this for our home. It's conveniently got a rechargeable battery as well as a hand crank to be able to charge it up if the power is out for many hours.
I was not extremely happy with the "Alert" mode. It has a setting to sit in the Alert mode, allowing it to only go off when there is an alert from the NWS for our area. While it certainly comes on when the Alert goes off, the device then will remain with the radio "on" until someone returns to it and resets it to Alert mode. It's been frustrating because it would sit in Alert mode while I'm at work and if a storm rolls through, it would turn the device on. I'd return home a few hours later to find the device almost dead, along with a bunch more storms rolling through later that night to hope that I wouldn't lose power again or I wouldn't have notifications.

Great product!
This little radio is great. It is used daily In a delivery vehicle and it stays charged via the solar panel. The digital tuning keeps it locked in on a station without static and the antenna doesn't have to be extended. If the weather is an issue, it may be switched to a weather band station for alerts. Overall a great value for the money. Also comes with a battery option for cloudy days.
