Great movie, but the Blu-ray pictured is not the version sent. Updating the picture would be better for those hoping for the first print of the Blu-ray. If you like the show, this will be a pleasant surprise and some exciting changes. Don't expect a one-to-one retelling. Asuka is in this one, so major thumbs up on the Shinji and Asuka dynamic.

I picked this up since I'd already got 1.11 and 3.33. It's totally in line with those releases. Great animation, great ED, and it introduces my fan service favorite: Makinami Mari. If I have one complaint, it is that this does not come with a sleeve anymore for the case, despite the picture showing one.

The film continues the story of Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, with Shinji Ikari continuing his role as a pilot of one of the gigantic "Evangelion" mecha as part of NERV's ongoing fight against the mysterious creatures known as Angels. While replicating many scenes and plot elements from the original series, the film also introduces new ones, including newly designed creatures and new characters, such as Mari Illustrious Makinami, and integrates newly available 3D CG technology. Its ending paves the way for the significant storyline departures from the original series in Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo.
