Garmin - DriveSmart 50LMT 5" GPS with Built-In Bluetooth, Lifetime Map Updates and Lifetime Traffic Updates - Negro

Bought in sale for future use, hopefully by end of June, Now ex wife took hers,enjoyed using traveling unfamiliar roads... Expect the same from this one.....

This is the third GPS Garmin I have owned. They have always been accurate and no issues with glitches. The operation is intuitive and well laid out. I also have it auto link with me cell phone which is in my pocket so can answer without picking up the phone. The voice command for all the operations is very good. recognizes my voice with few errors. The volume is sufficient to overcome lots of road noise. The traffic allert feature is very useful. I only took away one star because i was planning on using the Garmin BC 30 with it as a backup camera. It turns out that if you do the power cord for the camera is also the antenane for the wireless camera...and the cord for the GPS is required for the traffic allerts so you loose the traffic alerts with the backup camera ! So I decided against the backup camera...will be looking for another provider for that....to bad. By the way I have owned three other brands of GPS...none of them can compare to the Garmin as far as accuracy and usability.

This was bought to upgrade from a very old Nuvi. This one has a lot more options and the touch screen is SOOOO much better in terms of ease of use. I had to really press on my old one to get it to respond and it wasn't very accurate as to where you touched the screen. This one is AWESOME! Love the Voice Command option. Bluetooth is good but people that I called when I connected it to my phone said it sounded muffled. I don't like having to download a phone app to get real time traffic on it though. I don't want to use up the small data plan I have for something like that. This one is supposed to have the radio traffic antenna built in (which is one reason why I bought it vs the 51LMT) but I've not been able to tell if it's actually working. This one also didn't have the wireless built in like the 51LTM. I don't want to download a map upgrade through wireless, it takes longer than if you connect it directly to your computer! All in all, this is a very good GPS and well worth the upgrade from my old one.

My wife got this for me for Christmas and our 1,000 mile trip back home to VT. I really like the warnings for tracks and speed changes. Voice command is a plus and works pretty good considering most don’t understand my New England accent. I still use my old one for work though. This model doesn’t keep a log for my mileage report like my old one does.

Updated from older Garmin. Like the added features: voice commands; traffic updates; improved touch screen; improved screen layout. However, voice feedback/instructions are a little inconsistent. Sometimes too much, sometimes too little!

Works with blue tooth phone can hear conversation well. Responds to voice commands well. Great hand free feature. Bought the navigation to work with cb 30 backup up camera. Works good enough to see behind. I like the fatigue feature that help find rest spots after long drive. Don't need to buy the most expensive unit to get navigation.

This is an improvement over previous models. The touch screen responds much quicker and it seems to pick up satellites faster and compute faster. The only negatives are you have to buy a memory card or something if you want to go beyond out of box functionality and the battery life seems to be really bad compared to previous years. Seems like a couple of steps backwards. Still a good choice of GPS if you keep it plugged into the cigarette lighter?

I am extremely pleased with my Garmin - DriveSmart 50LMT 5 GPS with Built-In Bluetooth, because it is extremely easy to use. This grandma is not a techie by any means, and if I find it easy to use, it's user friendly. Moreover, staff at Best Buy was very helpful. Great store and great product!
