Was looking for a small microwave to replace the one we have on our countertop. Tried the Panasonic NN-SD372S Stainless 950W 0.8 Cu. Ft from amazon. Loved the power, but the fan cooling the inverter runs a full 60 seconds after every use which I did not like at all. Tried the LG - 0.7 Cu. Ft. Microwave - Stainless-Steel from Best Buy but it was way too loud, had black sides, and seemed kinda cheap. So, finally tried this GE microwave. Pros -- Stainless front with gray sides looks nice. -- One touch buttons. Push the 30 sec button or the 1 thru 6 numbers and the microwave starts cooking. So simple. -- When running, it is quieter than our old counter top microwave and quieter than the other two microwaves I tried. -- You can turn off the beeps!!! Since I am up early, that is a huge plus in our small house. -- The button to open the door feels solid not flimsy like some small microwaves. -- very compact. -- only $79.99 Cons -- Heats better than our old small microwave. But when I heated six ounces of water for 90 seconds, the LG water was five degrees warmer. Overall, I really like this microwave. I do not do anything fancy with my microwave, just use it to reheat food, warm up a tortilla for a wrap, or pop popcorn. This microwave meets my needs while looking nice, being relatively quiet, and taking up little space.

    Pros and Cons

Pros: Dimensions and power are ideal for people like me who want a small footprint and only to heat up food and beverages. The oven offers a wide range of features, including the option of muting the beep. It has the look and feel of a quality product, and I’m very pleased with how well it works. Cons: The overly short power cord is located on the oven's right. This is good for a wall socket on the right but if it's on the left (as is my case), 17 inches of the cord is used up just stretching it from the right to the left. This makes the cord undesirably shorter. Also, the instructions for changing the power level in the JES1072 Owner’s Manual didn’t work. I thought the oven was defective until I experimented and discovered how to change the power level.

We were looking for a smaller microwave due to our very limited counter space. We're quite happy with the result. This model is ever so slightly smaller than the model from a few years ago, so we have a bit more counter space now than we had before the upgrade to this model. That's important in a small kitchen. If you have larger dinner plates (we do), they may not fit through the door opening (ours don't). But we have large bowls that fit just fine, so we use those instead to reheat meals or leftovers, etc. our dinner plates did fit through the door of the older model, but other than that minor inconvenience, we have nothing but positive experiences from our upgrade to this model. One touch cooking, reheat options, etc. all serve our needs quite well.

This is a great compact microwave for my small kitchen. It takes up very little room and ideal size, design, and color that suits my workspace. I have never used a microwave for much more that heating and defrosting and this one does the trick and more. I left off one star ... while a dinner plate fits on the carousel, it does not fit through the doorway of the microwave unless you tilt the plate on the side. So, either use a smaller plate or bowl or heat/defrost/cook something that's not going to slide off the plate :-)

If 700watts and .7 cu ft is enough for you, get this one before it's too late. (It's discontinued). Just push "1" and your cup of... is heated just enough. Fits a dinner plate, easy to use, looks great, well made, nothing cheap about it; and is light enough to improvise a way to mount off the counter top if you're handy. Thank you to the buyer who said in their review you can turn off the sound. This is one of the reasons I chose this model. Some of the alarm sounds can be so annoying. I'm returning the 900 watt .9cu ft microwave I bought from another store just in case I didn't like this one!

This is a good sized microwave with good functions. The problems with it are that the buttons are hard to push and are not illuminated so unless there is enough light on you can't see them. This is a problem when it is dark and you want to use the bottom light feature but can't see where the button is to turn it on. We have had it a year now and the turn table is starting to rumble. Have to get a tech in to look at that. I like the defrost and quick cook choices. I would tell people to look at other options first before purchasing this.

We had to do some searching, but we finally found a microwave that was affordable AND had the option of turning off the sound. (We returned the last one we tried because the beeping was so loud.) This unit has less power than others we've had in the past, sometimes individual frozen meals need an extra minute or two to cook completely. This would be great for a dorm or single person, it's perfect for heating up things and light use. If you're looking to actually "cook" in a microwave you may want a bigger/more powerful model. Personally I think it looks great and love the smaller size.

    Unusable

This microwave heats food well and evenly...when it's not sparking. I'm shocked to see we are the only ones with this issue. Anytime we put a frozen item or a stick of butter specifically in the microwave it sparks. It's because there's not enough moisture readily available within the microwave. I have friends that have other brand microwaves and have the same issue sometimes, but this one has proved to be unusable 75% of the time which is infuriating. We waited too long after the manufacturers warranty was up so if you notice this happening be sure to have it solved right away, that's my only advice. Or just don't buy this model at all. So frustrating.
