Good Kinect play, good storyline action

Kinect play in a series of challenge vignettes is a lot of fun and can be played in 2-person mode with a friend. Learning the different spells is fun & a little challenging. Form counts - if my form is off the spell might not work.
I would buy this game for the Kinect play alone. It will help if you have a friend you can play with from time to time, as the fun you can have with two really helps to draw out the game play.
In the main game, the storyline action is my favorite part. I like being able to walk around and learn about things in the game world. I'm glad there are a lot of things you can do that don't involve controller-based shooting. It helps to have a friend (in my case, my son) who can take the controls when it's time to shoot at things; I'd rather go get coffee and re-engage when it's back to cut-scene or exploration mode.
This is the first videogame I've ever used for non-Kinect play and I must admit I really do not care for gaming controllers in action games. My son tells me that the controller usability is not as good in this game as it is in Assassin's Creed (the only non-Kinect title we have).

Great game for controller, Good game for Kinect

When I purchased this game I was thinking it was mainly a game to be played with the Kinect controller. There are a series of challenges for the Kinect, however, the main game play is with the controller.
The game play with the controller is awkward because you use the right thunbstick to control Harry's movements while having to use the right fire button to shoot at your targets. The left thumbstick should be available for movement, with the right fire button to shoot (or allow right thumbstick with left fire button availability for left handed people).
The Kinect challenges are fun but you have no control over where Harry moves towards...the movement of Harry is completely controlled by the console. Sometimes it's hard to do the movements of the spell casting b/c you can complete the actions and they sometimes don't actually work. Also, some spells aren't available with some challenges.
Great graphics though.

This game is much more like a 3rd person shooter, being able to aim down your target. The game has some what of a level type layout instead of the free roam like the 2 previous hp games.
EXCITEMENT: FUN
CHALLENGE: EASY
GRAPHICS: NOT PERFECT BUT AVERAGE
LENGTH: MEDIUM (10-20 hours of gameplay if played on hard)
