Sprightly little photo printerPosted .
The HP Sprocket Studio Printer is a dedicated 4x6-inch photo printer that connects to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. The Sprocket Studio Bundle includes the printer, a plug-in power supply, a cordless power bank, and a carrying bag. Use the plug-in power adapter to charge the power bank, which will power the printer for up to 40 prints, or will charge a USB device like a phone or smart watch. The Sprocket Studio bundle also includes a starter cartridge and several sheets of 4x6-inch photo paper. The Sprocket Studio is a dye sublimation.printer, which passes the paper through four times, for the three colors C, M, and Y, and a clear coat. HP says that such dye sublimation prints should remain bright for 100 years, if stored in the dark. It took less than five minutes to download the HP Sprocket app to my iPhone, And to go through the setup steps. The printer connected quickly to my iPhone, I selected a photo from my library, and printed it. The HP Sprocket Studio software allows you print a single photo or a collage of photos. It also has a few dozen photo frames and embellishments, and you can write on or add text to your photo before printing. The power bank charged quickly to full capacity, right out of the box. We used it to charge a Garmin fitness watch. Replacement cartridges are available separately in a two-pack, along with 80 sheets of photo paper. Pros: Small, compact, easy to set up. Wireless printing via Bluetooth. Dye sublimation ink is mess-free and archival. Bright colors. Portable, and cordless, if you use the power pack. Prints 4x6-inch photos, while earlier HP printers printed very small or wallet-sized photos. Cons: Each photo takes over two minutes to print, so this is not a production photo printer. Replacement dye sublimation cartridges and paper cost nearly 50 cents per print. The Sprocket Studio prints only 4x6-inch prints. Colors were not “spot on,” but were very good. You can print only via the HP Sprocket Studio app. If you are looking for a dedicated, portable, easy-to-use photo printer, the HP Sprocket Studio bundle is a good deal, as it includes a power bank and carrying bag.I would recommend this to a friend

Awesome Photo PrinterPosted .
This HP Sprocket is a great personal photo printer. The whole process is simplified by using the HP Sprocket App, which instructs you on how to set up and connect through bluetooth, then shows you how to print from your phone gallery. It prints in great quality for being such a small printer, I've attached a test picture of a cherry blossom setting I printed to show you how good it was. It's a great HD quality picture and the printer really captures the quality on paper. It also comes with a portable battery pack and carry case so you can take it with you and print wherever. Lastly the whole bundle also provides you with 10sheets of blank photos and a new ink cartridge to get you started with your photo printing. Overall it's a great set for anyone that wants to print photos of family moments, scrapbooking purposes, art, or anyone that just wants great quality photos without leaving home. The only bad thing I have to say for the HP Sprocket is that a new ink cartridge is a bundle with photo paper that I've found on BB to be around $35, but that's kinda typical with any printer in my experience.I would recommend this to a friend

wow I love this little printer!Posted .
this became one of my favorite little device I have owned, the quality of the pictures are above of what I was expecting. let’s start of with the packaging. I like the fact that it comes with portable power bank so if you would like to take this little device with you it’s possible, the trave bag is also included, haven’t tried the bag yet but i’m sure nothing special about it. the design of the printer I thought was cute, looks clean, i’m not sure the name of the color but it’s almost like light grey with a hint of blue. the power bank also comes with USB pluggin i’m not sure what it is for i’m guessing it’s about option to charge the power bank. now about the picture, I thought the picture was top notch, amazing quality, as soon as I saw it printing it put a smile on me! there’s also an app “sprocket” that you can use to print pictures from your phone that you wish to frame, not only that the app even have option to edit the photos you have. including stickers, it also have the ability to connect to your social media account for your photos that you might want to print! the setup was a lil buggy for some reason using an iphone x, when the app is searching to connect to the printer it would just be stuck on searching, the best way is to just connected manually through your phones settings. that’s all I got about this printer, great thing to have, it excited to print more family photos!I would recommend this to a friend

Nice Idea! Works Well, Could be better!Posted .
The Sprocket Studio Printer is a well thought out, small photo printer. It works really well, and I wanted to give it 5 stars, but I just couldn’t. First of all, It is a PLUS that it is Bluetooth connected. And I love that it doubles as a power pack to charge other essentials, such as your watch, phone, etc. I love the bag, I love that you can carry it with you. I love all those things, but in the end, it is a limited small printer. And I asked myself, why carry this with me? The power pack! I did print a couple of pictures and show several friends how it worked, and they too thought ti was a novel idea, but I guess what I’m saying is, I will most likely leave it at home and if I want to print a picture that really interest me, I will, but I look at the cost. Before the printer arrived I had taken the time to download the HP Sprocket app on my iPhone 7+. And it was a quick setup process to get everything on the same page, so to speak. The printer and my phone paired quickly. The app is really a nice feature. It allows you to customize your photos, such as adding text, frames, emojis, and stickers to the photos. And you can turn any picture into a master piece. Most everyone today uses a phone to record special events, and the app helps you to customize those events. BUT the time it takes to print is SLOW!!!! I didn’t officially time each print, but its a snails pace. Again, look at what you are buying, its a small printer used to print 4X6 photos, that takes time. GRANTED, the quality is exceptional. The colors are very vibrant and sharp, The bag that carries everything is well made and looks like it will hold up over time. My final thought is this: Its like a conversation piece, I have one, I like it, but in the end will I take pictures and then take the time to print them? I don’t know, I have a grandson due in May, (my first grandchild) that may be the time I put this to more use, but as it is right now, I don’t really print that many pictures anymore. Would I recommend this, NO. Not unless you have A LOT OF TIME, and plan on printing a lot of 4X6 photos. No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Prints well for its sizePosted .
I had an HP Photosmart printer years ago & sold it, the pictures were great & I've regretted selling it, I thought this might be a good replacement. Surprisingly the pictures are quite good, I’ve posted a photo of a Snapfish print on top & Sprocket photo on bottom & it’s hard to tell the difference. I’ve always used tri color cartridges so when this started printing it was yellow, then magenta, it goes through the process about 4 times, I thought the print would look awful at first but it didn’t. Set up was easy through the app, print cartridge is large & only 10 pcs. of photo paper came with it. You can not use regular 4 x 6 paper, it won’t fit, these sheets have removable tabs on the ends which are great for handling. Ink dries right away but the ink & paper are a bit expensive, you are suppose to get 80 pictures out of a cartridge, I haven’t printed that many pictures yet. Pictures are not real glossy more of a matte finish. I used a camera with WiFi to print these from my iPad , you can also print from an iPhone. You can personalize your pictures with stickers, frames or text, there are 20 fonts & the color & size can be changed, sticker color can’t be changed but can be sized by just pinching. The paper tray is detachable for storage & the paper is hidden inside so the tray also serves as a holder for printed pictures. Instructions are basic, no user manual included. You can use it plugged into the wall or with the power bank , that is great for travel & sits on top of the printer, the charge lasts fairly long. I didn’t print much but it went down a bit with only 2 pictures printed. The power bank & printer use the same cord but there isn’t a Velcro cable tie included so you’ll have to get your own. The carrying case was a disappointment, it is very thin, cheaply made, doesn’t feel like it can support the printer too well & no pockets for accessories or paper so everything’s just thrown in loose. It is a good printer for its size & for occasional use & easy to use but for better quality or large quantity pictures I would use a service instead.I would recommend this to a friend

Convenient Photo Printer!Posted .
The HP Sprocket Studio is a really nice little printer! Setup was a breeze, it only took me about 10 minutes to completely unbox and configure the product and print out my first photo. To set up the device, you simply unbox it and remove all packaging, download the HP Sprocket app, plug in the printer to power, load photo paper and the ink cartridge, and turn it on. The added battery pack to go along with the printer is great for added portability and convenience. When I received the battery, it had very little charge, so you will need to plug it in and charge it up before using it. Using the app was very simple and straightforward, and it steps you through the setup process that I outlined above. Once you have the app set up, it is very easy to select a photo from your photo library, and you can even add external accounts including Instagram, Facebook, and Google to access photos you have in different places. Once I had the app set up, it did automatically update the firmware on the printer which was great and then I was able to print my first photo. The printer does take some time to print, so expect 1-2 minutes per photo. Printing worked great for me with no issues! The photo quality was pretty good, although I think your regular print at Walmart or Walgreens might be a little crisper than what this printer can produce. Overall, I would say this printer works great and produces some really nice pictures! That being said, the initial cost along with the cost of ink and paper makes this product very expensive. Replacement ink and 80 pieces of photo paper will cost you $34.99, which means you will pay around 44 cents a print, not including the upfront cost to buy the machine. Really the only reason it would be worth going with this product over Walmart or Walgreens photo printing is if you want something that is a convenient and easy way to print photos in an instant. I would not recommend this for large print jobs, but for printing photos every now and then, it is definitely a fast and convenient way to do so. If you are willing to pay the higher cost for the prints from this device, it does a great job at printing photos and is really easy to use! Also, since this is a dye-sublimation printer, it should not be an issue if you only use it occasionally. Unlike inkjet printers, the dye-sublimation printers are not subject to issues like clogged inkjets and other problems associated with infrequent use.I would recommend this to a friend

Bundle Created for True MobilityPosted .
Basically, you'll want to buy this bundle if you want a super value priced solution to true mobile, high quality photo printing...or if you're too lazy to have it done at your local drug store. The printer itself does a great job printing very nice photos, pretty much anywhere. I took it out to dinner one night with some family friends, whipped the bad boy out on the table from the included carry bag and started printing photos just taken minutes beforehand. With the power bank, it does take the footprint of a sheet of paper, so it's not very discreet at all. Others around me took note and enjoyed my demonstration. The prints are pretty remarkable; they come out bone dry once it completes. It almost seems waterproof to me. Each print does take at least a minute or more to complete, right from the moment you hit send to upload the photo information to the printer. The bundle comes with the "the first one's free!" kind of deal with enough ink and paper for about 10 prints. YMMV. You'll have to get the replacement paper and ink pack, which is quite reasonably priced in terms of per print cost, in my opinion. From what I've learned about it so far, you'll only be able to print using the Sprocket App and Bluetooth. I use Android and had zero problems connecting to the printer thus far. The Sprocket App does allow novelty customization like stickers and text, but I found the magic wand touch up to be the most useful. Downsides?? The paper tray lid/cover/hinge (whatever it's called) feels super flimsy to me. A couple times the tray/cover dislodged itself from the printer and had to be snapped back in place. I thought I was going to break it. Now I'm very careful whenever I have to add more photo paper. Also, the included carry bag is not very padded in terms of keeping the printer safe during transport. I didn't feel confident at all carry it around in the bag when I took it out of the house. I still give it 5 stars because it is a wonderful value for this bundle as opposed to buying everything separately.I would recommend this to a friend
