A great buy at the refurbished price

I really liked this computer but the brand new price was a little out of my range so when the refurbished version came out I purchased it right away. I'm very happy with the performance of the computer but I feel the refurbished price point is a little more accurate for what it is worth rather than the $800 price point. My favorite thing about it is the size- both the weight and the thin-ness of it is perfect for a student or anyone travelling. It will serve me well when I start business school in the fall. Now that it has been out for awhile there are more case options available.
I don't use the stand/tent/tablet modes as much as I expected to but I can see where they would be handy as a student for presentations/projects.
My initial concern was that the hinges wouldn't last but they seem very sturdy and well-made.
Overall a great laptop!

Bought it refurbished for about $600. looks and feels like new.I have no problem with the battery life, and very portable. Keyboard feels weird in tablet mode when holding it. Also a few quirky things about windows 8 that you have to get used to. Thought the solid state drive would be fast when launching or startup, but really not faster than lenovo u430 that I recently bought with 500gb hard drive. Found myself using it more as laptop than tablet. Charger is small and the same as u430 so i can use it for both. wish this was the case with all manufacturers. Overall still very happy with it.

It is a light laptop, a bit heavy as a tablet. It is a good compromise. 128GB is not a lot of space but the USB3 and SD reader allow users to have additional storage. Full-size HDMI port is great for connecting directly to newer TVs. Decent battery time.

Great ultrabook

I bought this ultrabook as a secondary computer mainly for traveling and work. First of all, this is manufacturer refurbished, which was a nice surprise, and it comes with a one year warranty from Lenovo.
The build of this computer is exceptional, the keyboard is by far the best I have worked with so far (and I bought this mainly for writing). The display resolution is not quite Amoled, but it is good enough for me. Win experience index is 4.7, with the weakest point, unsurprisingly, graphics. The camera is okay for Skype, but not great. Restore partition takes up about 20 GB hardrive, so the usable partition is only 100 GB. Would have been nice to have ethernet and VGA ports, but there are cheap adapters for that. It is possible to replace the 4 GB RAM with 8 GB, although BestBuy says otherwise, however, the Yoga is very fast already, I did not experience any lags except for one caused by the pre-installed McAfee AntiVirus. Wifi worked great. It is light and has a smooth, professional look and feel. Screen size is optimal for a device used for travel, and the size is still compact enough to fit into a bag. Overall, the hardware in this system is perfect for me.
The weakest points in my opinion are all related to software, so there are usually workarounds. This was my first Win 8 system. I can't say much about Win 8.0, because I immediately upgraded to Win 8.1, however, I had some problems in the few minutes I used it such as bugs (disappearing tiles) in metro that disappeared after the upgrade. Solution: upgrade (after updating Win 8, the free upgrade is available in the store).
I immediately brought the Start menu back using Classic Shell. It took me a while to figure out how to set up users and install apps with a local account, and how to disable some annoying Win 8.1 quirks, such as 'tip' windows that block out the screen. I installed Office 2010 on this system and it works great. Solutions: replace the Skype app with Skype desktop version and select 'Sign into each app separately instead' for other apps (you still need a Microsoft account for the store, but it will not be merged with the user profiles, and you can use your existing accounts for all apps). After the usual rage at MS for making me jump through hoops to get a working system, everything works smoothly now. The Windows app store is very limited compared to Android, and some apps I have come to take for granted now cost money (Google drive...), but that was to be expected.
Conclusion:
This is a great device for this price, however, I would not have paid the full price for it. The refurbished system is great, did not notice any difference to the new device I tested in the store. With 1 year warranty, there is no reason not to buy it. If you consider buying a Yoga, I would recommend this one.

I almost bought this laptop new when it went on sale several weeks ago. When I saw I could buy a refurbished model for $579, I pulled the trigger immediately. The laptop is the perfect compromise when you would love to have the light weight of a tablet, but you really need the convenience of a built in keyboard. And you get ultrabook performance to boot!
I could not be more pleased. No blemishes that I could find, and no hiccups in getting the laptop up and working.
Could not be happier.

I am really happy with this laptop. Although refurbished, it is in excellent condition. Upgraded to Windows 8.1 right away. Fully charged the battery and took it down to 30% and still have 2hrs 35 minutes left. In addition, it has the Haswell Processor. Best Buy did a super job on delivery. Totally satisfied with the Laptop and Best Buy.
A:AnswerYes it can, if you are adept at carefully taking small things apart. Look in the Lenovo community website for discussion on how it is done. Many have upgraded to 256GB ssd's and some have increased the memory to 8GB.
