Q: what is the difference between the lg g6 and the lg e6 oled tv 65 inch..
A: There isn't a lot of difference. The G series is LG's 'signature' model and comes with a much more robust speaker system and a different stand system However, the screen is IDENTICAL (the previous reply is wrong) to each other, with the same peak brightness, specs and measurements. Number of ports are identical as well, as is support for DV and HDR; both are the same 10-bit panels. Both are GREAT sets, but the E is a better buy.
Q: Can the soundbar and stand be removed for wall mount and connected to your own surround system ?
A: On the LG SIGNATURE OLED 4K Smart TV - 65" Class (64.5" Diag), Model # OLED65G6P, the spearker is the stand and all the inputs and output are on the back of the speaker. It cannot be removed. When you need to wall mount the TV, the speaker folds back behind the unit. There is an Optical Digital Output on the back of the speaker that you can use to connect to your Surround Sound System and you will need to go into the audio settings in the menu to specify the audio output path and mute the TV speakers...^IFV
A: Why would anyone expect a stellar experience to surf on their TV. I wish they would simply eliminate all the apps and smart TVs. They can't possibly keep up with the likes of Roku, Apple TV or Amazon's Fire TV. Why should they even try? It is ludicrous that they are still doing this. It is so old school. Make an OLED TV with great specs (throw in 3D capability to boot) and significantly lower prices. The only reason I bought a smart TV is one has to in order to get the best specs. I NEVER use my TV's apps. I especially don't use it for web surfing. I tried and laughed. It was akin to attempting to play "pong" on a PS4. It was completely mental. For exactly as you stated, no flash. However, flash is becoming a thing of the past anyway so I would never expect any TV manufacturer to add old technology. If you wanna surf on your TV be smart and get an apple TV and simply airplay from your IPAD. Websurfing on a TV is worthless.
Q: Is this TV an 8, 10, or 12-bit panel?
A: The LG - 65" Class (64.5" Diag.) - OLED - 2160p - Smart - 3D - 4K Ultra HD TV with High Dynamic Range - Black, Model # OLED65G6P and all LG OLEDs are 10-bit panels. Currently, there aren't any 12-bit panel TVs...^IFV
Q: Can you use any TV mount for this TV?
A: Yes, as long as it fits that size TV. The mount is no longer proprietary as it was on the older OLED models
Q: Where there any upgrades to this model from 2016 to 2017 build dates
A: yes ( Dolby Atmos, webOS 3.5 and more nits ( a brighter screen ) also a downgrade (not 3D)
A: The LG Oled has outstanding 3D effect. We saw The Walk and were blown away. IMO was even better than in theaters!! Cannot speaker for the Sony, but have read viewing angles are great with OLED.
