What you see on the top of the refrigerator that has you concerned is not a compression. It is a tray or drawer that for some reason was placed on the top of the refrigerator when the picture was shot. The only 2 heights you need to be concerned about are those for the height to the top of the Case which you already have as 68 7/8" and that of the unit to the top of the hinge which is 70 1/4". Depending on how high your cabinet is, if it is less than that of the unit's height to the top of the hinge, then your only concern is if the 68 7/8" height to the top of the case can slide under your cabinet and how far it will slide before you encounter the hinge. You should have some idea on how far that would be from looking at the same image that clearly shows the hinge...^IFV

door-in-door counterdepth side by side fits galley
previously i had a Kenmore side by side, door in door w/ water & ice dispenser frig, discontinued 24 yrs ago. the door in door popped open outward, forming a shelf. it held up to two 1 gallon containers. anybody who saw it, wanted that feature. my family found it the best thing for storing beverages and other items they needed quickly. with its age, we kept our eye open for the door in door feature and was pleased to see them being re-introduced in the past couple of years. the only problem was that the standard size frig's have become huge. i have a galley kitchen. the old Kenmore stuck out 3 inches with a 3" handle beyond that. the new standard sizes add an additional 3 inches. i balked at the idea of losing that much space in the galley kitchen. our Kenmore was dying this summer. then we became aware of the new counter depth ones that have the door in door feature which are smaller by 3". i went down in size from a 25 cu ft, but it was manageable with the new side by side. the door handles are flush. the ice maker is smaller. the door in door is much larger, allowing for the addition of condiments. my family no longer fights over what should be in the door in door space. the shelves are not adjustable, and it takes a while to make the best use of space. i almost bought the samsung full door in door, thinking it was a bit more than i need, plus it was even smaller cubic ft wise, but ran across this one while poking around best buy. never saw it in an ad. they had not been carrying them long it meets our needs. the lighting inside is pretty decent. the little push button works fine. i wish the door didn't swing so hard, but my husband added a bit of foam to the hinge to slow it down and that handle some of the momentum. my only real wish was that it came in white. i had to settle for stainless. i am pleased with it overall every time i look at it in the kitchen. the smaller size helps make the room seem larger, allowing more light thru. if it was white, instead of grey, it would seem less obtrusive.

Coolest Refrigerator Inside & Out!
This LG refrigerator is great because of it's sleek outside design and organized storage Inside. It runs so quite, we don't even know it's working. The ice maker is tucked away on the inside of the freezer door, which leaves more space for frozen items. LED lighting is bright. The easy access door completes our perfect choice for our family! Thank You LG & Best Buy!
