Love our new washer & dryer

We narrowed down the possibilities not only by size of the machine, but by the Consumer Reports article. This was one of the best.

Bad Start
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The first time I tried to use this machine, it would not start. I unplugged and reset this machine, it did not start. I contacted the Geek Squad since I had the extended warranty and they were no help. It was around 5 pm on Saturday evening and they said they could not get anyone there until Tuesday. They told me to contact the Manufacturer for assistance. I was more upset at the Geek Squad for failure to respond than I was with the dryer. I had wet clothes that I just washed and was not happy about a brand new dryer that would not start. Reviewing the documents did not help. After one hour of unplugging and resetting the machine and changing the dryer settings, I finally got the machine to start and drying clothes. Since then the machine has worked fine, but I am keeping a close watch to see if it fails again. My concern with the whole situation was the responses with my 5 year extended warranty with the Geek Squad. In the future, I probably will not elect to pay for the extensions if I buy from Best Buy.

Expensive but appears to be a good machine

The four star rating is because, even though I had just replaced my semi-rigid dryer vent pipe two months before the dryer purchase, I was forced into buying another vent pipe from Best Buy before they would install the dryer. Best Buy also forces you to buy a new Power cord. This is, of course, money in Best Buy's pocket, but it certainly increases the cost of an already expensive dryer.

The simplest dryer I could find...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We did not need nor want some fancy, ridiculous, high tech dryer (I don't need it to talk to my wifi to send me a text... no)... The is the simplest dryer we could find that met our requirements: electric, minimal complexity, large capacity, hamper door. So far so good. dries good. Inside light is a plus. The only real downside is the top is not flat you cannot put anything there anymore...

- A:Answer Hello Nikolass, we would not suggest any venting for use with the MEDB765FW unless it vents outside. Venting outside will preserve the Dryer warranty. We do suggest the best venting material is rigid or flexible (as long as it is accessible to clean) metal venting, 4" diameter. Plastic or metal foil venting should be avoided. We hope this helps!

- A:Answer Unfortunately the entire top surface slants forward. I put a non skid mat on top so that detergent container and pre sprayer doesn’t fall of top.

- A:Answer Hi joy, this could happen if the Dryer vent that comes from the back of the unit is clogged not allowing proper air flow. Cleaning this vent can help with air flow and improve the drying quality.
