Good product, bad Zune software

I bought the 4Gig Zune a few days ago. So far I have been pleased with the ease of use of the Zune interface and the sound quality. The radio is a great feature and has good reception in all areas of my home. However, the Zune software took a long time to install and every now and again the Zune program will not work (for an unknown reason). The only way to get it to work is restarting the computer.
Overall the product is solid but the software needs help.

when i first got the zune, it thought it would be pretty good, but i took a while until i actually got to put songs on it, i have 3 computers (yes, really), and for some reason 2 of them would not let me download the software, even after i did everything it said.i love taht it shows the album covers in big bright colors and i lov that u can make ur own backround. the radio is nice too, it has a good quality radio.if u get this i recommend getting the warranty too. they all seem to get messed up eventually.mine did. fortunately i got the warranty and i hav 160$ store credit, i am currently debating wheter to get the zune again, or try the ipod. i tink ill get the ipod and them compare them.umm....i dont really lik the circle thingy, the ipod wheel is better. there is a thing called "social" that allows to interact with other people's zunes, but i dont think anyone evr uses it. i guess its a pretty good deal if ur thinking of buying it

Better than any ipod

This is the best mp3 player i ever got. Wireless sync make the adding a lot easy. The screen is so crystal, like a little HD player when you play video. The interface is beautiful. The FM turner can show the channel name. Album art and song name are large on the screen.
But the headphone is really bad like ipod. Don't ever use it to play rock music, better get a studio headphone. I use my AKG k26p, which is greatly fitting Zune. There is a thing bother me a lot, it doesn't support Asian language, and there is no clock. You pretty much can't mod the software.

The iPod is lacking.

I just bought mine yesterday and I'm impressed. My 30GB iPod I had for three years crapped out on me earlier this year, and I really needed music for the new school year. After my brother had gotten a black 4G Zune, I automatically wanted one because it just basically rocks. The sound is perfect, the videos and photos are beautiful, and the set up on the Zune is fantastic because its very easy to use. The screen is bright and crisp. The radio is crystal clear and the syncing is brilliant. The headphones are surprisingly good as well. The only problem with this is the software they give you. If you have some sort of program that protects you from spyware and viruses, you might have to delete the programs in order for the Zune set up to install properly. It's a pain in the butt, but its DEFINITELY well worth your money.

Best MP3 Ever

I just recieved my Zune 4GB MP3 a few days ago and I LOVE IT!! It is way better than my Creative Zen Nano that I used to use. It is also totally better than the I-pod. All of my friends that have the i-pod are wishing that they had a Zune! The screen is extremely clear, the music sounds great and the pictures are wonderful. I have already loaded all of the info from my old mp3 onto it and I still have tons of memory left. I love the way the info in the Zune is organized as well. It makes it easy to navigate and find your info. I was done setting it up in a matter of a few minutes including the online set up and loading my songs and pictures. The Zune.net/support website is great. You can go right to whatever topic you need and it is right there and in ENGLISH!. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!!

I love this zune I got mine about 6 months ago. It totally beats Ipod. But I have had a hard time finding accessories for it. There is one case I have found and its $50. Another thing is that there is no clock. And that is the one thing I really do like about the Ipod. But otherwise....Its awesome!

Best Let Down Ever

Simple, functional, capable? You first have to activate it based on the operating system listed on the side of the box. Truth be known, it will not work with all Microsoft Operating systems. I have one of the listed systems (Windows XP). More precisely, a Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition 2002, with the latest 3.0 Version downloads. According to the packaging; the System Requirements lists the narrowed down version of XP and Vista, plus the recommended use of a high-speed internet connection. So far so good...not really, to my surprise after connecting my Zune to my PC, it wasted no time in letting me know, I needed updates. Okay, can do. I was hoping for a plug and play, not plug and pray. But patience prevails and after 11.5 hours of downloading and tech support, I was back to my IPOD. I consider myself a smart enough shopper who bought into the hype. I DID like the FM feature and I was looking forward to easier music downloads (unlike my IPOD) only to be stuck at step one. Next obstacle, 1-800 tech support...who wasted no time in navigating me to the right click properties page. Quick answer, "...take it back to the store." Although he was suprised to here of a version 3 software, it really didn't matter. Has Microsoft grown to the point where it's own products can't talk to itself? Or am I to shell out more money to communicate with them. Think I'll keep my money.

I would highly recommend this product for a music player. The Videos are also great quality and they arent delayed or grainy which i liked. The software is a little tricky to figure out but thats the only con. I was glad i made the purchase!
