Lots to like, but some issues
||Posted .I bought this 7 months ago, and started out really liking it. This takes better photos than any previous phone I've owned. It is plenty fast. The screen looks good. And, I love the fingerprint reader -- I never want to get another phone without this feature, way better than entering a long password all day long or trying to set up geo zones that it remains unlocked. It also connects to AT&T as well as wifi with few issues and seems more able to connect to weak signals than previous phones. Oh, and battery life is spectacular, far better than any other phone I've had and is my main reason for purchasing this. Also terrific are these shake shortcuts to turn on/off the flashlight, and turn on the camera, by shaking the phone... these are great and I use this all the time. Now, the issues. First, the dual camera where one of them is B&W, is almost completely unnecessary, and I think the cost that went into this could have been better spent elsewhere. I suppose someone out there may like it, but other than to try it out, I never wanted to take another B&W after that. Nor do I care to use the "cut out" camera feature... it's cute, but the subject literally has to be 5 or less feet in front of you for it to work. And, it's a feature that could otherwise just be done using photo editing software to add in an alternate background. Next, the mods you can buy for these phones... while this is a significant feature of the phone, it turns out I just don't use it. I got the free projector mod as a deal when I bought it, and it works fine, but is also kind of pointless because casting to a TV is easier and is a better end result. There's a battery mod, but the battery life is already great so I don't need that. And the camera mod interested me, but when I want really good photos, I just bring the DSLR. And the speaker mods, what's the point when you can pair with a bluetooth speaker. Plus, you need a case with this phone, but the case prevents you from easily snapping on a mod. I couldn't find a case solution that also easily deals with using the phone with and without a mod. I also don't care for this shatter-proof screen idea. I never shattered or scratched a phone screen before, and this screen scratches extremely easily -- you MUST use a screen protector, something I never needed with other screens. It works fine with the screen protector and looks decent, and it's not a huge deal, but still I'd rather just have a naked unscratchable screen that could in theory shatter. Not many cases exist for this phone, but I did find a nice one with a kick stand. If it was just the above issues, I would still overwhelmingly recommend this phone. But, today I noticed I have screen burn in issues, something I never had before on a phone and didn't think was possible. The bars on top and bottom are burning in and visible mostly while using photos or video, and is rather annoying. My wife has a Moto X Pure Edition that is 2 years old and heavily used, and my mother has a Moto G4 also with no issues, so it doesn't seem to be a Moto problem but is at least happening with the Z2. To compensate for this, I downloaded an app called GMD Immersive to hide these bars to reduce further burn in. So, I'm quite disappointed now... I'll keep using it but this issue has me worried. I have also had notification issues, where the phone doesn't present me with any notifications after 30 minutes have passed, until I pick up the phone then suddenly it bombards me with a dozen beeps/notifications at once. This seems to be a common problem with the Z2. I installed an app to keep pinging some server every 5 minutes, and that seems to have helped. But, I should not have had to do this. So, in conclusion I'm not sure I can enthusiastically recommend this phone, although I would like to. I wish this had a "maybe" recommendation radio box but it doesn't, so I have to regrettably recommend "no". But, if you go buy it, I can't say you're necessarily making a bad decision. The things I do like are terrific, and it does need to be compared with other phones.

Moto phone
||Posted .I had to get a new phone my Samsung 5 was about explode and they wouldn't replace the battery. I use to buy Motorola phone all the time because of their durablity. Thus far this phone is great! It is faster, eaiser, and lighter. They didn't tell me the face is plastic and I would still need a screen protector. I had to order it. Yet the pictures are crystal clear.

Great screen and battery life
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Reading the reviews I made sure to work the settings to keep away from the screen burn in. Luckily you don't need extra apps after all the updates. Turn on screen rotation so the top bar rotates with the screen and turn on Moto gestures to use the fingerprint pad to do the back, home and square buttons which take this buttons off the screen. The phone screen is really clear and crisp and the battery can go almost 36 hours off a charge with regular use.

Great cheap phone
||Posted .Owned for 6 months when reviewed.I have had it for about 6 months now and it is pretty good. In the messages sometimes the screen freezes and you can move it and still see the text. Other than that I love it. I broke the screen on my galaxy and the screen replacement was more than this phone. Honestly, it is just as good as a galaxy for everything that I use it for.

Fine Phone for the Price
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.AT&T stopped supporting my Huawei, so I to purchase a replacement. I didn't want to spend a lot of money to replace a perfectly working phone, and so looked at Motorola's value options. This meets my needs, is a relative improvement over my old phone, and meets AT&T's criteria. I do like the build quality of the phone, but don't care for all of the bloatware installed. I have no desire to crush any candy.

I'm happy
||Posted .I bought this over Samsung due to going back to a flat screen, the cured was good for a while but over all came to be a pain. Also at the time of buying the monthly rate was half of a Samsung cost and lowers my bill plus the battery mod helps keep it charged

underrated....... try it
||Posted .I generally hate a trip to the store to buy a phone......you know what you want, and when you get there......they push 1 of 2 phones...... Here's our new apple or here's the new Samsung. Let me say that I would never own another of either of those! If you don't have Apple everything, it doesn't play well with others, and Samsung's are full of defects. That being said, I needed a new phone....and I knew that Motorola had the z force 2 out. W/o a case, this thing is super thin! I think the Moto mods are gimmicky, but I give them credit for trying something new. The phone itself is fast! It has the same processor that the Galaxy s8's have and doesn't have all the extra Bloat ware attached. The phone is almost stock Android which makes everything run better. I caught this phone on sale for 13/month and it was a steal!

Long battery life.
||Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Bought this after mine died. Pleasantly surprised how long the battery lasts. Use it for YouTube watching, email, web surfing and of course text's and calls. Easy to set up, accounts ported from backup. Cameras are good. Not had it long still learning what it can do. One negative are the volume and power buttons are a bit close together. Haven't tried the mods yet.

Q: Questionwill this phone work on the cricket network? and does it have wifi callong
Asked by steve.
- A:Answer Hi steve, It can work as the device is a GSM phone. However, we can't guarantee that all carrier features will work as the device is an AT&T variant phone. The phone also has Wifi calling but it is carrier dependent. Your carrier should have this service for you to be able to use Wifi calling. I suggest contacting your preferred carrier to check. -Jess

Q: QuestionWant to upgrade-using iPhone currently. Will I be able to get my contacts onto the new phone?
Asked by Suz.
- A:Answer Yes. The best way to do it would be to set up a Gmail account, then add that account to your iPhone, then back up all of your iPhone contacts to your Gmail account. Then when you set up your new Android phone, your contacts will already be associated to your Gmail account, so you will not need to import any contacts during or after the setup. You just have to enter your Gmail account during setup and it will sync all of your contacts automatically.
