Q: Can I use my smartphone only, without computer or router?
A: Unfortunately, no. In order to remotely view this system on a Smartphone, you will need to have the gateway connected to your router via Ethernet cabling. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!
A: You have 2 options. 1) To record to the base, it will connect without wifi and the base is connected to your internet by connecting a wire to your internet router. 2) The camera itself has the option of putting a memory card in it and connects to your wifi and will run by itself. This option would record to the camera and not the base (thus not using the base at all in this case.)
Q: What is the biggest memory card size I could use with this? How long can it keep footage for?

A: Yes, this system will immediately begin recording when motion is detected. The indoor 1080p camera has 2-way audio with talk and listen capability. However, the gateway has a microSD card slot for you to install a microSD card for recording. There will not be as much storage space as you would have with a DVR or NVR that has a hard drive. A: The camera is AC Powered, and will need to be connected to an outlet using the provided 9 ft. camera power adapter. The camera wirelessly connects to the gateway (base). The gateway will then need to be hardwired to your router using the provided Ethernet cable. Thank you!
