Q: Are the programs downloaded? No internet at home...
A: The entire NordicTrack iFit series is absolute garbage without internet and their subscription. I bought the 2450 commercial with the promise that there were some local maps. The idea is you could probably just use this thing even after i fit subscription expires. If your machine has internet access and then loses internet access or has it weak signal it will constantly hang. The programming is absolutely terrible. The only way the machine works is if you pay for the subscription and have a strong internet signal at all times. if your internet goes down the machine is not smart enough to figure out that your router is not connected to the internet. It just sees a strong Wi-Fi signal and will constantly get stuck in a loop rendering your machine useless until you disable your router. So even if you have local maps the machine is constantly trying to access the internet with really bad programming and hanging and doing all kinds of flaky stuff. The only time it's ever worked is with the full subscription and strong internet. I own a commercial 2450 and I cannot tell you how much I regret purchasing it. I was very optimistic about the hardware buttons on the side that this could work like a normal treadmill and I could just hit start and get going with a basic map to keep me entertained. This is not how it works and the manual mode is garbage along with all of the other flaky stuff about networks and technical issues as I mentioned about.
Q: What is the warranty on the bike?
A: The warranty is less important than the manufacturer's unwillingness to resolve warranty issues. We have had repeated problems with ours since we purchased it. Their solution is to send replacement parts and ask you to disassemble/re-assemble the bike to install the replacement parts. Which doesn't make much sense when you've paid BestBuy a couple hundred dollars to assemble it in the first place, but I digress. In any event, from what I've read, everyone seems to have problems with the bike and with warranty issues and /customer service. Their customer service is the worst I have encountered in my 44 years on planet Earth. And it isn't even close.
A: They are 9/16 I picked up a set of Shimano PDM-530, and they work great. Make sure to have MTB style shoes so you can do floor exercises with the spd clips
Q: Can you access Netflix, iTunes, or Amazon Prime video on 22 inch screen, or the web
A: There is an HDMI out only. So you can display the classes from the bike on another TV, but cannot play other media on the bike. I think it would be better the other way around.
A: When we purchased ours it came unassembled and I had to assemble it. It took about an hr or so. Fairly simple, just follow directions and be careful when running the wires for the screen.
A: The IFit membership has the option to signup for one person or a family plan. The family plan is one account with up to 5 users. Since the first year is free, I chose the family plan. Once the deal expires, it will be $33 per month. Or you can change to an individual plan for $15 per month. Hope this helps.
A: The bike does have preloaded workouts and courses. You don't even have to log-in or use ifit to access these workouts.
Q: Does BestBuy offer a Geek Squad warranty service or do we have to get a warranty from NordicTrack.
A: I'm on my third bike. The first one had a crooked frame and the Geek Squad brought a second one and set it up. Then the incline and resistance stopped working after one week and Geek Squad came out again and brought a third bike. All these problems occured within a month of me getting the bike so not sure what would happen after the 90 days the Geek Squad guarantee covers.
