A: It's the consistency of cold thick soup (After 1/2 hour of motor running).
Q: When plugged in it automatically churns mixture & stops when done, right?
A: It starts to slow down till it about stops, is when I stop it.
A: You need ice and salt, and ingredients for specific recipes.
Q: Can you use your own recipes?
A: yes you can use your own recipes. I like alton brown recipes from food network. custard ice cream a little more too it but well worth the results.
