A: Yes, this is a hard shell cover.

A: YES. I had the same issue with a different case at Best Buy but this Otterbox is designed for the 2017 versions of J3
Q: Is there a screen protector for this case
A: Unfortunately not. The Defender series has one, but for this case you still need to purchase a screen cover to be more protected. It is a good case to protect the back and sides from drops and will help on the front, but a direct impact on the screen is still going to be bad if you don't put on some kind of stick on screen protector.
