Complete Awesomeness
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This purchase was one of my best and worst decision at the same time. I don’t regret buying it, mind you, it’s just that I’m now addicted and buying other lighting bulbs/fixtures that I don’t need! Can’t watch movies the old way again. I took a star off due to the price - over $500 for the setup to sync with your tv. My photos shows 2 play bars to highlight the bottom of the screen.

Great upgrade from Hue Play light bars
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded my two Hue Play bars for the 65" gradient strip and have been pleasantly surprised so far. It definitely gives off more light and more accurate to what's on-screen when synced with the Hue Play. My only complaint is the light strip seems fragile considering theres about a 4"-5" section where the lights are discolored. I'm not sure if this was a defect or this section bent while mounting behind my tv, but it's a minor complaint that doesn't effect the overall quality of the lights.

Must buy for home theater aficionados
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my second purchase of the gradient lightstrip. I have the 55 inch version and recently purchased a 65 inch tv, it was a no brainer to get the lights to go along with it. When used with the sync box it adds a whole new level of immersion to movies and games that cant be beat. Pricey but i definitelt recommend for the avid home theater enthusiasts.

Totally emerge yourself in your television
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Totally changes your tv experience. Adds a nice light to surround tv on wall. I wanted this and the Phillips Hue hdmi sync box for my tv. Sync box was out of stock so I purchased this 75” light strip and use it with my Mac Mini connected to tv via hdmi while running the hue sync app . Works flawlessly while streaming Netflix, Xfinity stream, YouTube anything you can access with your Mac. It also included a $40 Bestbuy giftcard that I used to finally purchase the hdmi sync box that should be delivered tomorrow.

Great product!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably the best hue light I’ve gotten. It has a SLIGHT delay, but compared to the setup I had before with my Sync box this is amazing. If you’re worried about sizing, I got the 65” model for my 60” TV and it’s perfect (55” hue was too small)

Awesome! adds vibrancy to any room
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was skeptical, but worth it. Installed on a 75in tv by myself rather easily in 3-5 minutes and was all set. The sticky pads are a pain to remove so I recommend lining them up before placing them. This light strip adds vibrancy to any living space.

Philips Hue Play Gradient Strip review: Pretty but priceyIs the pricey Philips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip worth the money, or are you better off buying a Philips Ambilight TV outright instead?

Q: QuestionAny features outside of the gradient that makes this worth 3 times the cost of the Lightstrip+ $70? I’m thinking it may just be better to buy three of those and do whatever I wish around the TV.
Asked by Fhue.
- A:Answer I know one of the features if the 7 color zones. depending on what is showing on the TV, the strip can show 7 different colors at once to match whats is on the screen. This light strip is more for people who have the Philip Hue sync box already.

Q: QuestionCan you use the light strip when you’re not watching tv through the hue app?
Asked by Anonymous.
This question was asked about the related product: Philips - Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip 55"
- A:Answer You can, but it will only appear in app as ONE solid color/light. Philips has stated they are looking into future app and firmware updates that will allow us to control the different color zones of the strip independently.

Q: QuestionAnyone actually tried to install the 75" strip on 65" TV? My concern is that, 75” strip overhang the two sides of 65" tv, which will cause color not match or line up. I want 75" coz I may upgrade my TV in near future. Thank you in advance.
Asked by oldcotton.
- A:Answer Unfortunately that’s exactly what will happen. People have tried to get the next size up (usually to make up for the fact that it doesn’t cover the bottom side) and the colors end up being ever so slightly but sufficiently noticeably misaligned. I suggest wait until you’ve commit to upgrading your tv, otherwise go ahead and get a 65 for now if you think you can sell it when you do decide to upgrade. Hope this helps!

Q: QuestionCan this be used just out of the box, like without the sync box? And it will just connect and show the colors as on the TV? These are so confusing!
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It will work as a standard lightstrip when connected to only a hue bridge. But if you want the gradation effect synced with your tv you need the sync hue play box which is another 230.00 dollars. You can also use the hue sync pc app if you are using it around a computer monitor. I mean it’s incredible when you have both... but is a 500 dollar investment.

Q: QuestionDo these work with the new gaming counsels?
Asked by carlos881672.
- A:Answer Not sure yet, I have PS5 - but the HDMI Sync box that I bought directly from Phillips was defective. I have read that the gradient lights do work with new consoles, however are not yet compatible with HDMI 2.1 therefore you will not be able to maximize 4K resolutions @ 120Hz. I have the gradient lights installed now but just synced to the Hue app and it looks amazing - waiting for a new sync box to be able to test the immersion features. Best Buy has been great, Phillips/Signify the parent company has not. That’s all I’ll say for now - will update once I get a working Hue Sync box.

Q: QuestionWould the 65 work on a 55? I'm potentially upgrading my TV at some point but not sure when yet.
Asked by Scotsman.
- A:Answer I believe it would. I have a 65 in tv and the 65 gradient strip. There is room around the TV for a larger strip. I would think the 55 tv would be ok with the 65 gradient strip.

Q: QuestionWill this work without the HDMI box just using the Sync app on PC and Hue Bridge?
Asked by Paul.
- A:Answer This will work without the sync box. All you have to do is download the Philips Hue Sync app to your computer. If you have a PC connected to your TV, and you are streaming your videos through the PC, the box is totally unnecessary.

Q: QuestionCan I use 2 of these around a 120 inch diagonal projector screen? Will the hue sync app let me place one on the left (bottom, middle, and top) and one on the right (bottom, middle, and top)?
Asked by jophill6.
- A:Answer Unfortunately no, they don’t allow you to put them side by side. Here’s a video explaining it https://youtu.be/wONayxL4xTY
